The 2x sets of cheapo LEDs I originally tried didn't have shadows as bad as those but every LED board is designed a little bit different. If I lived in a non snow state I would've stuck to the 6000k LEDs but I ended up going the irreversible route of drilling to fit 4500k HIDs.

So I'm just realizing after looking at all these pics that the dust cap over the low beam bulb doesn't appear to have a gasket. Is this interface just plastic dust cover on plastic headlight housing?

They probably all do. I just couldn't see it clearly if it was in the pics.

I took the gasket off while trimming the cap rim to avoid nicking it, but it has one and seals tight.

No sweat at all. These things happen!

I do feel bad for those that want to work and can’t though. That would truly test the patience of any person.

thanks for your help again working out those details!

I ordered my GTR Ultra 2's in December and didn't get them until January. After having them for nearly a month I have no complaints, they've done a great job so far. I've posted some pics earlier in this thread to show the fitment and also a light comparison to the original halogen bulbs. Are there any other pictures you would like to see?

Thanks Frogman. Your pictures were extremely helpful. I was curious if one side was a tighter fit than the other in regards to the dust cap. It appears so in the pics but they can be deceptive.

It's quite alarming how many folks in the FB group pages buy Alpharex's and don't know how to align or aim the beams.

I installed Alpharex lights last night on my wifes 2008 Sequoia.

Here is a before and after photos of the front end,and a beam pattern shot on the garage door. I don’t have any before/after lighting pictures,as I forgot to take those.

Also,I tried the horizontal adjustment on them and saw no difference no matter what I did??

Hopefully my wife comments positively after driving with them.

I also used some Turtle Wax Spray on them when I was finished. I know it may not be the absolute latest greatest, but at 11pm at night I had to make do with what I had on hand

where did you guys mount the relay boxes? I dont like how theres a lot of loose wires hanging around and im considering cutting some out and reconnecting the lines back.
also, where should the two step/bumps in light line be roughly? how wide apart?
photo makes the light look more blue than it really is...

oh, and while adjusting left and right I noticed going in one direction, after awhile the vertical would drop really fast and I would have to go back and raise the level so I stopped messing with the horizontal adjustment.

Saw no horizontal movement with my adjusters either so just left them be before I stripped them.

My front wiring is under the front support zip tied to the horn wiring. The relay is a mess of a wiring nest next to the battery. Doesn't look pretty but I'm the only one who goes under my hood so I'll live with it. The peaks in the cut off should be as wide apart as the physical projectors if measured from the headlights. But I have no horizontal movement so just left them as they are.

does the drl sequential flashing only come with certain models? I thought that the harness was what controlled that but after reading alpharex write up, all the harness does is give more power for drl to be at high intensity while switch is on off. once you go to parking light, low beam or high beam, the drl goes to low settings. I'm considering just removing the harness if all it offers me is high intensity during daytime driving.

The harness is required for the startup sequence and extra bright DRL.

To further expand, the write up does not mention this but it is required for sequence. I heard from alpharex tech and had the same thing happen several posts back. It’s there and it’s quick. Try to pull up to a reflection or glass so you can check.

They used to have a non start up model. You can still find it on Amazon. Alpharex doesn't sell that "base" trim anymore that I could see.

And yes, the additional power harness is only for the drl brightness.

A page or so ago I took out my harness in attempt to make the DRL stay bright all the time. The only change that I have seen is that the DRL doesn't come on anymore when the lights are turned to OFF. Everything else is intact: startup sequence, DRL dim when HL on, and bright DRL durning the day.

So......the wife likes her new lights

Now she wants the low beams “white color, like the high beams. The low beams seem yellow in comparison”

How is everybody liking their low beam light replacements? I’m considering ordering some Hikari’s for $39 and giving them a try

Seems like a solid choice. I have the $39 set in my fog housings and the $89 set in the headlights. They both seem pretty good. The only complaint we all (those with LEDs) seem to have is the shadowing compared to halogens. I've been debating getting some HIDs for this reason.

The brighter halogens have much lower life hours. It seems as if the brighter you get,the lower the life expectancy is rated.

That’s what steered me towards the Hikari, plus the price isn’t that much more than a Racing Vision H7 Halogen

Now,I bet if I get those Hikari’s in and she likes them,I’ll have to get led fog light bulbs too

Are there any LED's that are closer to the 4300K - 5000K temp? They all seem like 6000K.

hmm I dont have any start up sequence with mine, I've tried just switching it on and off and also starting the truck then turning lights on and off, none of them trigger any kind of sequence with the drl.

here is what Alpharex write up says:
    https://alpharexusa.com/how-to-wire-the-drl-harness/
anyone have yellow wire on their relay?

here's what my t2's look like from: http://www.toptierautoparts.com/index.php/product-category/led-headlight-kits/
I think from the photos I've seen, they have the best clearance from the opening wall. they also install with metal plate and the led bulb can be rotated to adjust the hotspot to maximum focus.
earlier photo I posted that was more blue, I forgot I have front ceramic windshield tint, I think that's what was causing the photo to show up like that. these photos are from outside the truck.

I believe the module in the harness has no bearing on the sequence. The sequence component is inside the headlights. Beau, correct me if I am wrong, but when you removed the harness, you still had 12v to the brown wires which I believe would power the sequence in the headlights. If not, then we are probably dealing with two different models.
