@RainMan_PNW there's no way I could justify trading a 2014 for a new truck for a gas tank. I'm sure there is a way to fit the big tank in the older truck and that must be cheaper than trading in and taking on more payments. Otherwise I would just hit the gas station more often.

for sure... that math wouldn’t work for me either. It was the sum of a bunch of little things coming from the 2008... that just happened to be one of the bigger little things.

I keep fighting the urge to trade my 2017 SR5 crewmax for a 4runner TRD OR Premium. I rarely use the bed but occasionally will offroad. Always get tempted by the 4runner because its smaller for trails and nicer interior. Just can't bring myself to do it though.

My wife, lol. She loves the space in the Tundra for trips. She can sit Indian style in the passenger seat. She told me I could do whatever I want but it was in that tone that all married men know.

Are the 4Runner seats really that much smaller? I went with my brother when he test drove one and it felt as big as the half-tons around us on the road.

I doubt its much difference. I didn't think there was anyway but she just remembers my 2016 Tacoma that she hated the seats/space and assumes they are the same.

IMHO, the 4Runner will feel sluggish compared to the 5.7 Tundra (Depending on tire size) Get a used GX460, they have the 4.6 V8 and a 6 speed, and believe it or not, comparable in used market price to the 4R.
And you get to use the Starbucks pinky salute when you see another modded GX :anonymous:

Put some nice seat covers on....

My neighbor went from a 1st gen tundra to a newish 4runner. He regrets it every time he looks across the street at my Tundra. His words, not mine.

My 2018. tundra trd cm rides better and gets better gas mileage after I paid it off...maybe it’s my imagination?

Keep it....that truck will go another 20 years minimum.

This is the problem with Toyotas--they last longer than you care to own them.

May seem boring and unsolicited life advice...but one of the proven ways to get ahead in life is paid for vehicles in good condition. A paid for, newer, lower mileage, Toyota Tundra is about as good as you can do.

I've seen two family members pull themselves out of a cycle of poverty and a substantial reason was paid for Toyotas. No payments, no repairs, just tires, gas, and oil.

Edited to add: I worked at a smaller independent, mom and pop, garage for a decade or so. All makes and models.

No joke, no exaggeration, I never had to give bad news to a customer about their Toyota. The most major repair I ever did was a replacement radiator on a 2nd gen 4runner.

The utter tragedy of everything else was hard to deal with. Telling people who can't make rent that their POS that's just out of warranty now needs a major engine, transmission, repair...it made a big impact on me in many ways.

Nope...its the missing pain in your ass every month.

I just paid off my 19 pro and had the same effect.

Upgrade the headlights, get the sequoia pro grill and give it a good bath with a professional compound buff and finish. Will look like a new truck. Get a SC and it will feel like a new truck.

Couldn't find a Rock Warrior priced right or I would of did those mods mentioned instead of buying my 19.
