I overloaded my 2000 tundra several times. I actually broke a leaf spring once . I hauled a entire pallet of retaining wall block,4 bags of lava rock and 4 plastic chairs ,50 miles to my home. I live in a rural mountain area.Drove 60 miles an hour down I -75 to the Jellico TN. exit and then drove across the mountain. I have 45 miles until I hit 376,000 miles. They are amazing trucks!!!

Yes,rear leaf spring. It was actually a good thing.Found a small rust hole in the frame.Long story short, Toyota replaced the frame! This was 8 yrs ago.

Please rent a trailer next time. Use the Tundra's towing capacity to work instead.

I learned from my mistakes I only did it once and about a 1/4 mile down the road regretted it when I realized how much mulch weighs

So here is the nearly finished product thanks to everyone for your advice I knew it was overloaded that’s why I loaded it with half of what it was the first time. I won’t ever do it again I guess you could call it a rookie mistake it’s my first kid he is almost 5 and needed a better playset than the Home Depot kiddie one he had. I decided it would be safer to put mulch around the playset so when he falls he has a little bit of cushioning

Your truck will be fine. As the truck is surely on the bumpstops it’s all weight mechanically transferred down to the ground. Should be a rough ride over haha

I’m very worried about this very same thing, about to haul a trailer that will most likely weigh 9700 when it’s loaded up...

Y’all need to find a local garden center/material business and just get a half yard of loose mulch into the bed. Still under payload and you only pay $15 or so. Or just get a trailer

With that much weight behind you, you can easily be pushed around corners faster than expected in Truck that weighs only 6-7Klbs. Good luck braking on hills... you're going need it

I’m just here for the comments. I’m running a special just for it.

    Drinks - $2
    Pizza - $4
    Hershey’s bar -$1

If you buy the pizza then you get the drink for $1.

I did stupid stuff when too young to know better. I lived. I didn’t kill anyone. Sometimes it was a close call. I don’t think talking about it would sound like anything but bravado on this format.
I’m not sure how to best help others avoid some of those poor choices, but would be glad to do so if it’s possible to help. Life is too short to drink crappy beer or cheap whiskey.
