Pacific Northwest? 95% pavement? I'd go with the AT tire with the best reviews in rainy/wet conditions like you will be seeing up there. Not how a tire "looks". I lived there for 13 yrs. I love my STT Pro M/Ts but highly recommend Goodyear DuraTracs having used them myself. Great all around tire and plenty of siping for wet conditions.

OK. Once I get to 30K I'll pass 'em over for increased life testing.

What makes you say the ST Maxx won't last as along as the Falcons?
I've run all varieties of Coopers and the ST Maxx have held up just as well as any other tire I've used. Admittedly I have no experience with the Falcons, but I expect my Maxxs to easily make it to 50k miles.

Pretty sure "Falkens" are made in Japan. Not a bad thing but not USA. Before you buy a tire it's usually a good idea to know the actual name of the tire. Not a good start.

The Falkens come with a 55k mi treadwear warranty (even in LT sizes) and I'm going off the assumption that a more aggressively tread tire like the st maxx won't last as long. I have some read of some folks getting great mileage out of their ST Maxx's

Thanks for both pointing out my mistake and the in-depth lesson in tire buying.

I know the local Discount Tire sells a lot of the Falken tires. They do seem to be reasonably priced and most reviews are kind. Don't mind my sarcasm. The Falkens are branded Rocky Mountain ATs at D Tire.

I was throwing the sarcasm right back at you. I didn't realize Discount Tire had their own brand of Falcons...ok I did it on purpose there...I like to give DT my business whenever I can, they always have great prices and employees. The Duratracs are getting more interesting - some negative reviews about sidewall strength and chipping easily when they get old but overall a lot of people really like them.

I never had any issues with my Dura Tracs. Loved them. They were on my 09 Taco. Drove up to AK. Saw all kinds of road conditions/temp extremes. Not sure how they'd perform on the larger Tundra. Sometimes my sarcasm doesn't go over well but all in fun. There are so many decent tires out there to choose from.
