Shouldn't be a problem. Battery switch on and charger plugged in. Unless you have some crazy stereo it isn't much draw.

Beautiful. This is the kind of dock setup I wish marinas around here would offer.

You only get one side of a finger here. I refuse to keep my boat in a slip next to someone else. Also the docks they have here offer zero protection - just exposed wood and even nails sticking out. No thanks!

    In progress...

That’s the Nautical at Lake Havasu, AZ. Pretty decent marina. Lots of fun. It’s only been 6 mos, but damn I miss that boat. Come to think of it, I miss ALL my old boats! :)

I have to laugh whenever someone repeats that tired saying that the best days of boat ownership is the first and last day of ownership. Boating has to be my most enjoyed hobby/pastime.

There's nothing better than being on the water, whether on a boat or on a waterski behind it.

I thought that looked like the Nautical Inn...I used to have a place in Branson's Resort on the Parker strip. Haven't been there in a few years. Spent a quite a few nights at the Roadrunner, Foxes, Sundance...that place was out of control fun.

A buddy and I had planned a trip to Lake Powell some time ago and, with a CV19 delay, this week was it. Spent 6 days/5 nights and 275 water miles cruising around.

WOW!!! What a place! If you ever get a chance to go, I highly recommend you do so. Freakin unbelievable!!!

I know it’s a boating thread (not a fishing thread), but for me this is what it’s all about.

I haven't posted in a while. I had some canvas/glass work done. New 3 sided enclosure for the spring and fall on the Chesapeake.

Hey that's at Nautical hotel AZ! Spend many, many days and nights at this place, good times! I usually RV it at the Islander around the corner, but stay here a lot if it's just a day or two. Nice boat!

I hear ya. I also can't stand it when people say owning a boat is like a big black hole that you drop money into. I can never understand that thinking? I bought a brand new 24ft. Chaparral deck boat in 2004. I change the impeller every season, and get a full service every other season. Outside of basic repairs, a new battery and a prop or two, that boat has never left me stranded, ever! As of this month I have almost 600 hrs on it. Boating is my passion, and if you take care of the boat, it will take care of you.

My dad bought our first boat in 1970 when I was 9 and we've had a boat of some form ever since. Nothing better than being in the water somewhere.

Me and the Mrs spent 6 nights on the Desert Dory last week and it was AWESOME!!

Pretty boat! I've spent alot of time walking that boardwalk in Beaufort. My uncle used to sell a bunch of those Parker's when he had his retail store in Morehead. Now he builds his own brand. Hoping to get down there to surf fish on Davis Island this summer.

    Great thread. wow.

I'll be back this summer with pics of my rookie setup.

In the meantime, does anyone have a company/vendor they'd recommend for a center console/helm/leaning post protective cover? For some reason this is really hard to search out online.

Man that’s some great content! The precision of steering big ships in rough seas is impressive, all while people are being picked and dropped off.
