No, that's the best I could do other than maybe put a flashlight in there to brighten the scene. But it's plenty clear enough. You might do better if you take the wheel off... I was just working it on the ground. I am 3D printing a clip with one end sized for each line... guestimated for now. I am going to get it so it pops onto a brake line under the hood before I lift the truck and try it in this spot. The 2 ends are offset 15 degrees so it will go right where the lines cross. The ends will make a snug press fit with the plastic clip having just enough give for them to pop on.

The one thing about strong tape... if you can get in there to apply it... is that they will have to remove it to inspect that line. If that is too difficult they may end up having to replace your line whether it needs it or not.

I just checked the safety recall site for Toyota and NTSB and nothing comes up for my VIN, 23 Platinum Hybrid.

You could just stick a piece of foam rubber between the lines. Or pop on a piece or split loom. Easy peasy. That's what I'd be doing if I wasn't a 3D print masochist.

Built June or later you escape this recall.

same here - gonna wait until it is dark in the garage and then take my scope light out and see what I see - then decide the next course of action. Even a temp fix in the garage, if necessary, is better than nothing if there is a visible and accessible access to a solution. Initial inspection for mine shows no area of conflict but lighting may say different.

Yeah, I don't *think* mine have any conflict but they are very close. And that plastic line may have enough freedom of movement to make contact with the stationary brake line if only under dynamic conditions. Without seeing the back side of that tube there is no way to know for sure. I'll try to get a look there with the cam when I get the wheel off.

I don’t see how these can touch , maybe if one of the clips is taken out or something

I wonder if the air suspension or avs changes something but I am on the recall unless they just did them all for liability reasons

From what I can tell from the VIN Sticker Sheet that was in the truck, it rolled off the Assembly line 05/25/23, maybe I got lucky.

That looks like a different segment but I can't tell for sure. The plastic line in my picture turns toward the center of the truck and crosses the brake line away from any clips. Your pic looks like what runs along the top of the frame lengthways. But I can't tell for sure. I have a clip like that along the frame. Look more to the rear (left) and follow the lines.

yes, that is coming down from the fuel neck down into the tank , so it’s a line coming out of the tank?

IDK what exactly is the function of the line in my pic. It comes off the passenger side frame just in front of the wheel well turns over towards the center of the truck.

If it’s a hybrid built in June 2023 or later it’s post recall, but yours was 2022. I think the gas engines had a little different date for the affected vehicles for some reason.

Went to Gresham Toyota the other day for 5k service and service rep said they won't do anything about this recall until they get instructions from Toyota. App describes the temp fix but he claims not to have received any official instructions on temp fix.

concur. I called my local Mothership Service Department to see what they had to say and when I could get it in - they had no answer and have not called back to follow up. Doubt we will hear or know anything until we get our official mailed USPS notice. As for now I'd say the dealers are as lost as last year's easter egg.

got a good look at the suspect location last night with my light scope - I don't see locations were the reported "plastic fuel line" comes in direct contact with a metal conduit (brake line). I find parallel runs and a crossing run that has clips prior and at least a conduit width of clearance. Agree with you at it could be Port A add Ons that could have been added and may be the potential area of concern. I will keep an eye out just in case, but I'm still gonna drive it.

Would it be fair to assume that if there is a leak in this plastic fuel tube, then the pressurized fuel system would throw a MIL light and code? and one would smell gas (if standing by that side of the truck).

You made this dumb ass statement even after the above responses explaining why? It’s almost like you’re compensating for a terrible take. I never called it 2.5 until this forum changed it from 3. I guess I didn’t want that to be the hill I died on, but go ahead….
