It was a little intimidating pulling it apart. But it's just the main screws and some tabs. All I used was a small flathead to pry them off. Any pictures of the 4wd selector knob. I've been wanting to pull it apart. Just afraid to break it. I may just plasti dip eventually.

I don't have a good pic handy but here's my post after I did it.
    https://www.tundras.com/posts/1322663/

It's really easy to pop the knob out if you already have the climate controls out. Just a clip on top and bottom holding it in.

They weren't to bad. You just have to be really careful not to mess up the small dial settings. If your not careful they will get out of alignment. I did have that happen and my settings were all out of whack. I was able to fix it by plugging it in and adjusting the small white dials while the ac was on. Just be very careful not to pop them out. Definitely suggest marking the white dials before you pop the outer nobs off.
    Here is an install video.

How much did the black center trim pieces run you? Or the OEM rings?? I really like the black center trim....

It was a little pricey. But I think it was worth it. Prices vary depending on who you buy from. Your local Toyota parts may price match online. Worth a shot.
Here is the thread with part numbers. Any other questions let me know.

Mine showed up yesterday. They were in perfect condition and were easy to install. Very happy with how they look and they compliment my climate knobs really well. I’ll get some pics tonight. I just went with black.

Thank you, just the vent cutouts. If I remember right, I think there is an option for speaker cutouts. Doesn’t muffle the speakers though.

Now if they could make something to go over the chrome trim around the shifter. Id gladly do something like this instead of tearing it down and painting it.

It's not that hard. Hardest part is waiting for paint to dry to put back together. Holding up nicely so far. IMG_20180711_190054799.jpg IMG_20180711_190234843.jpg IMG_20180711_190350974.jpg IMG_20180711_190438161.jpg IMG_20180712_072328.jpg IMG_20180722_204410165.jpg

Not a fan of the shifter boot mod just not my thing.

And yea its not hard to tear down I've had it most of it out to put my switch pro with the sdhq mount in, I just like being able to reverse mods back to factory easily. Yours does look good the paint came out really nice.
