Got my steering wheel trim pieces yesterday, had time to do the swap today. Little nerve racking moving that airbag but it looks awesome!

Did the controls, buttons, circuit boards fall out? That is what has me most nervous !

Did you both opt for black?

Any tips you can pass along would be appreciated.

Nothing fell out, I did disconnect the harness on both sides just to give me a little more room to unscrew/tighten the 3 small screws. I did opt for the black as everything else in my interior is the AJT black. Just take your time, follow the instructions it’s pretty fool proof.

maybe to kind of cheat on making it more level than angled, tilt the steering wheel up while doing this pointing down a high angle driveway or run the back wheels up some ramps, to put in my bumper cover's I used my ramps and that 8 inches extra room to work under is amazing FYI .... just thinking if you angle it this way the steering wheel may be more like a flat table to work on or at least a little easier to work on

I just ordered black on a pre-order. Seems to be a popular color.

Not sure why they say pre-order? I ordered them this afternoon and just got a shipping conformation. Works for me.

I installed this today and it went well, I had a small issue with the airbag screws going back in, but I found out you can push them back a bit during the bag install, then reseat and screw them in once the airbag was seated. It was all easier than I imagined. Hope that makes sense.

I did mine today with the help of the YouTube video from NitroZ18 Fishing.

Took about 15 minutes and really like the all black look. Now to find a way to do the center dash radio surround bezel……

Yeah this really makes the steering wheel look good. If AJT did that center dash bezel it would complete the entire interior.

I replaced the head unit to have apple car play and also to have the radio trim black. Now I just need to figure something out for the last piece of silver/chrome the dreaded HVAC trim.
(I even had my daugter cut me a circle with a rectangle in it on her cricut vinyl cutter to cover the keyhole on the glovebox)9A360D3E-AB0D-451C-8FE2-0D0A5A81E3A0.jpg

How did you get the area outside the radio surround black? The part that the vents sit in...

You can buy the bezel from the dealer in black (it’s standard in the SR trim). But it costs $200+

Maybe AJT will continue to develop products to help us get rid of the silver crap in the interiors.

I wouldn't mind some stick on covers for the silver strips across the dash and doors.

The hard part would be the temp control panel.

I sprayed mine. Same amount of work to disassemble the dash to remove them. I used a few coats of adhesion promoter and then sprayed them flat black. The dealer as usual is a thief.

    see sig for mods.....
I bought a used silver dash center (large silver piece with air vents) off e-bay last year, plan to paint it as well as some of the wonky chrome and silver bits, but havent had the time to take it all apart and do the work. I guess the first step would be to paint everything...... Too many projects! Honey Do lists, maintaining my motorcycles, keeping an old P car running and on the road, mods on my Mustang Bullitt. BUT I have the parts! lol.

    I emailed AJT and asked:

Do you think you will be doing the chrome delete for the door trim under the armrest and/or parts to replace the wood grain trim?

    They answered:

We may in the future, but no definite plans at this time.

So I installed the steering wheel trim pieces and when I finished I realized my volume button was silver not black. Does anyone have a part number for this? I can’t find it. It sticks out. It’s going to bother me. 931C75AF-51B1-4BE9-854A-BDAAEE731842.jpg

What’s everyone think of the quality of the plastic? I’ve noticed my cup holder just doesn’t look as good as the plastic around it.
