replacing it is pretty expensive I think based on what ive read, and bypassing it is not recommended.. but this is the relocation kit that SDHQ offers. any particular reason your looking to do away with it?

Not doing away with it just have to replace it. Just trying to get all info available so we can decide whether or not to tackle it ourselves. And this is the best place to get answers. Didn’t know there was a kit thanks a lot I appreciate it.

Once the belt is removed or the electrical connector is disconnected, the pump is unbolted from its mount and the new pump is installed. If the pump is belt driven, the belt will then be installed.

Don't have idea why it's like that?

If you have the flex-fuel 5.7....the bypass wont work. I spoke to one of the makers of it (forgot their names) and he said if i buy it, no gaurantees nor returns. The main reason he explained, was that if the pumps had been replaced before, most likely the ecu has also been reflashed to have the pumps run after shut-down. Since i have a flex-fuel 5.7 and the pumps replaced, he wont gaurantee hiz bypass will work.

Mines was already replaced once by dealer before i bought it so im done...as dealer wont replace it twice, even if its still under warrantee (not that it matters as im already out of warrantee now).

Will have to deal wid it if it fails again.

What’s the repair cost and expected life?

Is this something that should be done as preventative maintenance during a frame replacement when the drive train is removed?
