Out of pocket decision based on some folks suggestions in the forum and given the issues with 22-23 recall stuff. Ended up being comped cause dealer was backed up and I waited 2 hours. I didn’t get the oil or send anywhere for any analysis though.

Sounds like swapping out cabin air filter to a K&N also helps - mine is on order and it’s probably suggested in another thread but wanted to mention here as well.

So I suppose it's no different than using a K&N under the hood in that you're trading filtration ability for higher flow?

Apparently? Not sure I’m only making the cabin filter change for now myself.

I like their cabin air filters. I’ve used them for years. I can keep the Tundra at setting 3 and still be comfortable. Where as the factory filter was at setting 4 or 5. Gets hot in Texas.

These are not the drop in filters for the engine. My allergies see not difference between filters.

As far as airflow it made a difference. I’m in setting 3 in the Texas heat. Before it was on 4 or 5.

Glad I ran across this thread. I had noticed the weak AC almost immediately in the 3rd Gen Tundra.

AC got better on its own, but I probably changed settings and got lucky.

Will get a Carista or similar and try those less accessible calibrations. A lot of things controlled via the ECU in these trucks. Manual dials and knobs are not present in this truck for many functions.

Sorry was out of town... I did the same and changed at 1k. I don't care what they say. There has to be micro metals in there that should be flushed out. 10k miles is a lot on first time oil. Can only help engine. Now I will do the 10k with amsoil though.

I returned the Carista and bought a proper OBD bidirectional scanner (Autel) The Carista app is too limited IMO. Buy once cry once.

Changed my oil at 1k and again at 5k. Will change at 5k from here on out. Been using Amsoil Signature Series and will do so for the long haul. Also cut my filters apart, nothing looked out place. I save a 100ml from each oil change into test bottles, label and store them.
