I'm thinking the non-hybrid does NOT have this little motor. Because if you don't disable the auto stop/start, occasionally it'll display that the function of shutting down is not available due to climate control.

I believe that’s because the a/c and blowers (fans) run off the battery when in “auto stop”. Thus the engine needs to run to continue to charge the battery and provide power to the compressor & fans. Mine usually stays off for a minute plus when I use a/s before restarting.

Hybrid owner....I find if I have mine on AC only with the fan it is less than ideal........if I put it on Auto, I freeze myself out of the cab in short order ....hiway or in city driving is the same

    Dumb system

Im actually driving north on Friday the 16th (up to New York). Just so I'm clear, would you be willing to let me "rent" it for a few minutes and you can still sell it, or are you only looking to sell?

So having a thermometer in the vent my ac isn't calibrated correctly. I get about 45 in FRESH and it goes up and gets warmer REC ! That's not right but I checked the low side pressure and it's in the green so I believe the temp calibration would correct this.
Looks like I'll just get the carista thingy and correct this myself-Ford has me Dealer shy from all the BS they put me through past 5 years.VideoCapture_20230607-171445.jpg Screenshot_20230607_171354_Gallery.jpg

    Quick update everyone:
About a year ago I took my truck to the dealer and complained about the weak AC, they tested it and said it was subpar. The dealership drained and refilled the A/C system and it was much much better, but still not even close to my prior gen tundras or my wifes 14 4runner.

Sunday I carista temp dropped it and my wife was frozen riding in the truck, definitely recommend this!

Once I saw this post and the carista settings I ordered it on Sunday and got it today.

I turned off the engine noise and driver seat belt chime.

as for the AC, it was 4 degrees cooler with the temp setting changed to -2! I tested this with a thermometer in the vent to confirm it.

Worth the $52 shipped to me. Thanks again everyone for making the post and commenting.

Confirmed that the -2 setting makes a huge difference. Much appreciated!

AC now feels as good as my second gen and LC200 did.

bonus points for being able to disable the engine sound and seatbelt warnings.

It is! I tested mine and in rec is warmer output on low vs fresh. Gauge on the lowside showed good pressure so it has to be a inside temp calibrate issue. Avously the temp control door is partially open causing this as the manifold pressure on the low since is perfect and does lower on rec and goes up on fresh. You found it and thank you very much, now waiting for mine to come in!

Giving this a shot since it works for others. My AC works pretty well, no complaints but if I can make it colder why not.

Hello everyone. I purchased the Carista as well. $52 total. I changed the AC to -2, added the long press key fob to open all the windows and sunroof, removed the driver’s seatbelt bell and removed the fake engine noise. Worked like a charm. Anyone want to use it, I’m in SoCal OC 92887. Thanks to the original poster!

I read through this and I'm still not sure I understand. The Carista just spoofs the indicated temp correct? What was a 68° setting is now appears as 70°?
In any event,I'm new to the truck but I just set my AC on truck at 68° and forgot about it. I was in the 50's in the VA mountains and stuck in stop and go DC traffic in the 90's. I didn't make a change.
