Airlift for my '07 and '08 4Runners they had a goofy downward exit for the airlines, required drilling into LCAs https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RRLz1j5Le3g

I don't know if Airlift for other Yota rear coilsprings will differ, but I won't do airlines hanging down under the axle when Firestone airlines thread through the top of the bumpstop and are easily wire-loomed and ziptied out of harms way. As always, YMMV.

I looked over the install instructions for the new kit on their site to see some detail pics of the kit. The lines exit the top side. They are also external to the coil springs on the 3rd gen. The brackets bolt to the frame and replace the factory bump stop. It's really more comparable to the the firestone ride rite bags for the previous gen tundra.

Interesting, kinda like the Timbrens for the 3G?

Hi I am new for tundra and looking LoadLifter 5000 Ultimate or Timbren SES, actually wondering will installing them void my warranty or not?

Nope. Unless the install somehow causes a failure and that can be proven by the dealer/manufacturer, then they can deny a warranty claim. They cannot void the entire warranty though.

got it, Thank you. I heard toyota would void the warranty for suspensions if we install a aftermarket kit. do you know should we prove if the failure is not this kit causes or they will prove it is. lol

I've never had to deal with an issue like this but I believe the laws put it on Toyota to prove the aftermarket components or install caused the failure you are trying to warranty.

Properly equipped torsion bars do wonders for trailering. Yes air bags raise the rear back up but torsion bars actually transfer weight and take a lot of sway out, versus just using bags.
Here’s a pic of my set up from this morning, completely stock truck with 3700lb trailer and 5600lbs of shingles in it. So total of 9300lbs and just using torsions bars, ride quality is fantastic.

I do love this set up, I will hold out as I might be trying heavier springs front and rear. If not I believe this is the way I’ll be going. 5000lb bags are not required. If they are however, you would be extremely to far past the GAWR for that truck. Start shopping for a dually lol

1500lb air assist to the coils that seem to work quite well, and will be more then enough.

After of lot of back and forth I decided to get some Timbrens. I'll update once I get them installed and loaded (late October) if people are interested.

For those of you who are planning to install Timbrens, I did confirm with the manufacturer that the fasteners should be torqued to between hand tightened and 15 foot pounds. Hopefully the install is as easy as the instructions make it look.

Sorry for hijacking a thread about airbags to talk about a non-airbag product but I thought it might be relevant.

Had about 14 trees blow down from hurricane Fiona… borrowed my buddy’s excavator. May have exceeded the tow capacity a touch today.. haha

still waiting for some heavier spring to try out

Well I’ve had bad experiences with my Firestone 4164’s. I did two 2,000 mile round trips and my right side developed a leak. Got in there and the bag was cut. I am in the process of moving states and paid to have another bag installed and it lasted for about 600 miles and leaked flat. Then the other one blew out violently on the road while towing. I’m pretty sure that one bag was b/c I exceeded the weight limit so now I have ordered OME 2864s to see how those do.

I have my truck fully loaded with my off-road gear as we are moving and I was towing my wife’s car with a U-Haul carrier.46BB9F70-DEBC-40D4-BD79-AA817864EC03.jpg

It rode great and basically level with both bags working as pictured here

This is my worry with the coilrite bags. I like that they are pretty transparent when at minimum pressure and don't limit the already meager wheel travel when off pavement, but I'm worried about durability. I'll be bringing a spare bag with me on long trips with the camper and probably run them until I have a failure like this. Thanks for sharing!

Well we live and learn and we are all trying to figure out how to modify our trucks based on our use case. And I was hopeful my $46 bags I got off Amazon would work till I figured my next step. But alas $46 turned into $270 (to have one replaced by a shop) which now has turned into $242 OME 2864 springs!

Can’t win them all I guess!

That’s a good attitude! I would be very interested in hearing about how you like the OME 2864 springs. If you remember, it would be great to hear about the install process, unloaded ride quality impact, and general impression after you get some miles on them. Thanks!

Well as promised I am reporting back after my triple air bag failure. I did 4500 miles in 6 weeks and had a leak (cut airbag), replaced that side, leaked again then blow out on the other side while towing a car hauler. So the Old Man Emu 2864’s springs went in and they handle the weight really well. It has about 1” rake over the Westcott 3” lift up front, the rear 2” spacers are removed. Idk what it rides like yet unloaded but it’s currently at about 525-550 lbs.

All of my stuff in the world is in transit to North Idaho so I just have photos for reference and no measurements.

Before the 2864’s my fist was almost touching the fender flare. In hindsight the springs are only $242 at Desert Rat in AZ. I know bags allow for adjusting the ride but wish I would have just started there.

Exactly why I finally chose to go with the Air Lift 5000 Ultimate bags. I just ordered them and will do a write up after install and some real time usage.

FYI: SD Truck Springs is having a sale on both 5000 kits. I got out the door (shipped) for $467 on the Ultimate kit.

My bags should be here next week, got em on sale through SD as well…just a heads up, they are saying they are a couple weeks out from having stock unless something changed…I ordered mine a couple weeks ago…I’ll also have an install video on my channel if it’ll help anyone, they look legit!
