That is because they have a tighter tread pattern.

So, the Toyo ATIII- my first choice last fall- is available up here now and much cheaper than the Duratracs. I have a set ordered for my ‘summer’ tires, install next week. It’ll be interesting to see how these perform vs the ATIIs I had. The ATII was a great tire- tough, smooth and balanced thru out it’s useable life. But the mud/snow/ice traction really suffered as miles climbed. It looks like Toyo tried to address some of those criticisisms with the newer tire design. Here’s hoping. :)

I have ATZ P3s on the 7.3 diesel. I like them for everything but icy roads around town. They are awful in that arena, on that truck.

I'll be putting AT III's on the Tundra.

I'm in AB too and looking at these tires. Where did you order the Toyo ATIII from? I'm hoping to have on set of tires for all year. Planning on 275/60R20.

St Maxx's are bulletproof tires. First day of owning them a very large nail went right into the tread. Just pulled it out, and haven't had an issue in 15k miles. The only true downside is that yes, when they wear past 50-60% they do start to get loud, but nothing like a true MT tire.

Falkens Wildpeaks AT3 gets my vote... Did well for the first year snow here in Pa.

Integra Tire should be able to get them for you. He did mention the ATIII are not widely available yet, but getting better.
