this picture is borrowed from a Tacoma forum but it illustrates the same situation that I would like to make happen with my tundra I currently have the kicker 6x9 that are pictured and purchased the appropriate spacer adapter for Toyota vehicles to accept a 6x9 speaker but with the adapter and speaker pictured the rear magnet of my speaker is still setting too deep into the door and having clearance issues

Has anyone found a workaround besides putting a different size shallow speaker or buying an aftermarket made with buit in adapter for this situation

I would prefer to be able to use the speakers that I have recently bought rather than go through the hassle of return shipping and trying to find a suitable replacement and waiting for those replacements to be shipped to me.

Any help is greatly appreciated thanks a in advance Dave in New York

Just curious if you installed these with the stock head unit and if so how big of a difference did they make?

Those Focals look nice! Did you disconnect the oem tweeters in the sail panel? @Rex Kramer

EDIT: Looking at your vehicle info you may not have had oem tweets.

Yes, and they sounded much better but the HU started acting up so I replaced it with a lower end Kenwood HU - now they sound great.

The OEM tweeters are up in the dash, and they are still working.
