I’m prepared to go into my dealer and place an order. However, I’m not going to order until I can immediately have a lift installed. Here is what I have learned directly or through the rumor channel. BDS anticipated it could be up to a year before they have a lift available. Apparently, Toyota may have a 3” available immediately, but I want a 4 or 6”. Other lift companies may come sooner. Example, BDS was slower with the Ram than other companies. Apologies for asking a question that may not have a clear answer, but I trust that most on here are more up to speed on modifications. Any advice regarding timing and expectations. Thanks in advance.

    No nobody actually knows anything.

There is a lot of speculation and some reading between the lines but that adds up to no actual answers.

Now the upside is that you can not go order one anyway whether you are ready or not.

No one even knows what they cost yet, nadda, nothing!

Why do you immediately need to have a lift installed?

I just personally don’t like the look of a truck that isn’t lifted.

I wanted a faster vehicle so I also bought a Chevy SS... because 4 door sedans with big V8’s are hilarious.
1.) Is your current 2017 broken or unreliable to the point it cannot be reasonably maintained?

2.) Are you personally compelled to always have the current body style or generation of vehicle you choose to drive?

3.) Do you have any medical diagnosis indicating you have a short time to live?

If you answered “no” to those questions, the obvious solution is to wait until supply catches up with demand for new Tundras and for the aftermarket to catch up with questionable products to compromise function for cosmetics.

Let’s take these one by one.

    1. That 2017 is long gone. Since that time, I have had a 650 BMW, Ram 1500, Range Rover, F-150, and currently drive a Porsche Panamera

    2. I am a car addict as referenced by my reply in the previous question. My financial situation affords me the ability to do this.

    3. I’m not aware of any medical issues

Seems the best suggestion would be to wait.

Alternatively you could pay whatever dealer markup will be and get on the list for a 2022. You’ll still likely have to wait awhile to get it lifted for mall crawling duties though.

Appreciate the advice. How is your 2007 double cab treating you?

The other hurdle you may have to deal with is new model “kinks”. You have to find yourself a good dealer so they don’t blame any problems on the “lift”. Unless it’s a Toyota or Toyota warrantied lift.

Quite well, I am the original owner. I never planned to have it this long, I also suffer car addiction or used to. This truck, up until the driver side catalyst rattled loose a month ago, has given me no reason to ever see a mechanic. Currently at 141,500 miles, still running strong despite the cat rattling in the housing.

I will order a new driver’s side bank of catalysts, have them installed and keep it on the road. Even after I buy a new truck, the 2007 will stay as long as it is serviceable.

Currently patiently waiting for the 2022’s to start filtering in, and supply hopefully catching up with demand. Probably won’t happen at this rate until 2023, so others will get to beta test the new Tundra. I will probably buy an iForceMax truck when the time comes.

Since you're going through cars at roughly 1 a year I'd get something different (GMC 3500 AT4 Duramax would be my suggestion) then get the Tundra for the vehicle after that. By that time maybe there will be some aftermarket support.

Get that new sweet AT4X they just released.

With that you get a V8 and an off road truck that has actual recover points (tow hooks). And I realize this is subjective, but it's significantly better looking also.

I don’t think the OP is doing a lot of off road driving in his trucks. At least not if his other vehicles that intermittently replace trucks are an indication.

For the cost of the new AT4X I'd 1000% prefer to have an HD diesel. And with the money OP is putting into vehicles I see no reason to not delete it and truly enjoy limitless power. The new diesels are so intoxicating, only reason I don't own one is the emission crap is hit or miss whether it'll cause problems.

Here’s a fool proof plan for the OP, who has the financial means to pull it off:

1.) Buy an HD diesel truck of your choice.

    2.) Buy a toy hauler/car trailer.

3.) Buy a Porsche 911 GT3 and put it on race slicks. Haul it to race tracks for shenanigans, driving schools, etc.

    4.) ????????

    5.) Profit.
