Good evening Tundra towers. My wife has informed me that she has went and looked a some campers as I am on a fishing trip. She send me a picture of the ones she liked along with how much they weigh. So she has found one that weighs at 5200 pounds empty. 23 feet long. They have single and tandem axles. My question is I have a 6 inch lift. So what else will I need? Will I be safe towing? How much weight does folks usually put in the camper when in tow. Thanks for any any any help on this. I am driving home today. Thoughts from the professional towers!!! Please

    Your wife sounds awesome!

The one suggestion i have is to think about your rear suspension. How is it lifted? If it is blocks, consider full lift springs to eliminate blocks

Blocks. I have ordered some spring helpers.

Lucky man. Spring helpers are good for the load, but the blocks are very tall and with a trailer you might have some bad axle wrap. Look into that

Will do. Thanks I will. But it should tow fine with the lift?

There are some great long threads about gears and big tires.

Your trailer plans sound pretty reasonable, but I personally would regear the axles properly for towing and eliminated rear blocks

    Have you re-geared?

With that light of a load, having a good LDH and set up right, should be good to go.

The advice on the lift blocks is solid. Look into that.

Thanks guys!!! I have not re-geared. I will look into the new springs. I also haul a 26 pondtoon to the lake but not far. I love about 8 mins from a lake then maybe an hour to the other lake. I think the boat weighs 3000. I was just worried due to my truck being lift and haul 5-6000 pounds would be an issue?? Thanks

The lift height is affecting stability, the tire size is killing the pulling power
