well if you aren’t changing the HU and you are leaving the factory amp then you will just tap into speaker wire for sound and then run power and ground. The harness and LC2i would only be necessary if you are adding an aftermarket amp to run your door speakers.

I’m adding an aftermarket JL sub/ amp combo. So I assume the LC2i would be necessary along with a harness?

so there are 2 ways to hook this up for the sound (bass), either by RCA via LOC (LC2i would work) or just by tapping into a R/L speaker channel directly from the speaker wire. But if you get the adapter harness the you won’t be able to use that and still have your stock amplifier hooked up. So either way you will need to tap into speaker wire to convert to RCA or to wire in as high level (direct from speaker wire). But you would only use the adapter harness if you are replacing your factory amp with an aftermarket amp that will power your door speakers. Does that make sense?

Wow, you’re awesome. So if I understand correctly I’ll need the LC2i hooked up after the factory amp, ( to clean the dirty signal) and then from the LC2i connect directly to the amp/sub. Should be good to go then?

you are using speaker wire to get sound to the sub either way so the LC2i isn’t really necessary because all you are doing is converting the signal from the speaker wire to RCA which you can do directly to the powered sub by just tapping into the speaker wire, it’s a high level input either way. Otherwise just run a decent gauge power wire from the battery (fused inside the engine compartment), the same gauge ground wire to bare metal, and tap into the remote wire before factory amp for turn on. Then just tap into the rear right and left speaker wire closest to where you are mounting the sub. The LC2i would be more for if you were adding a separate sub amp to power subs, not necessary for your application.
