Hmm.. Perhaps put in MTS deep snow and go do donuts - I heard a friend did it.

I found some sand and switched between MTS and no MTS. The switch seemed to work. I had less problems with it on.

Here’s to hoping it works on my limited Hybrid 4x4 with panoramic view (sans the crawl function).

I’m also a lurker on this thread and would appreciate any feedback for a non TRD limited.

Put the MTS switch in my SR5. Up at my cabin we had snow so I put it in snow mode, it definitely changed the gas pedal mapping, making it less punchy than normal mode. I have the premium with PVM, was really hoping it would unlock the MTM but no luck. If anyone figures that out, I am 100% interested!!! Wish crawl and DAC worked easily, would love that too!!

Just ordered this switch for my 24 Limited gas. I've been on the fence but figured I'd try it out. If it does nothing, I'll post it for sale here. :curls:

so it gave you MTS options on the small dash display? I thought this didn’t work for SR5s.

IMG_4856.jpg IMG_4855.jpg Ok, here is my 24 SR5 I put the switch in, and that’s it. Now able to get the MTS modes in 4H and different ones in 4L. Here is what the screen looks like when selecting…

Thing I was really after was adding MTM to my PVM enabled SR5. If anyone figures that out, I’ll be super pumped! My truck had all the cameras and has the pitch & roll data, so the fact that it isn’t there drives me crazy!

Dang, nice. You must have the advanced technology package since I have softex, big screen, bsm etc (convenience, premium, and premium audio packages) but not the 360 camera. So the question is which specific packages do sr5s need for it to work since I know it doesn’t work on some sr5s.

That’s possible, but I honestly would think as long as you have 4x4 it should work? May be wrong. Also, it definitely has to be in 4wd for it to work at all, hope other knew that.

So has it been determined then that if you do this (just the switch and not the whole extra computer part etc.) that everything but the crawl function works?

    Ziznack,that would be correct.
Lol I just read this entire thread start to finish.

Nice job for Tundra_lover7 for startibg and attempting this whole project and a second major thanks to Virgulas11 for going above and beyond for buying the other control module/computer and multiple trips to the dealership and working a couple of attempts and going to a different dealership to find a vehicle that had the two additional wires passenger rear wheel well.

So for shits and giggles the summary is that the switch will work only in MTS,and only when in 4H/4L is engaged and at that point then select MTS.
This has been field tested no pun intended, by DustinCo (post #182) test in snow & Oh2Sail in a feild (post #178).

As for the cameras if you have the 360° set up it pre determines "what" it would look like as you move forward it is not a live view,it's pre recorded and fed as I assume at the rate of speed traveling.

So for $178+ tax you can get the MTS mode added even if you have AVS.

I'm wondering who is going to go the distance and actually do it...

I just want to say thanks for all of the time true efforts and money that was done in this thread.

Just an FYI there is a new part number for the 4wd Control computer:
    upload_2025-3-5_9-35-49.png
I wonder if this newer part would change anything?

With the current parts deal the switch is $131.08 and the new 4wd control computer is $298.61. I may snag the switch at that price for my 2024 Platinum. Hmm...

Hmm, wonder if since I was successful with the MTS addition if this 4wd computer would allow me to access MTM options? Tempted to give it a try .

anyone know more about this stuff than me have any input? Having PVM and a working MTS dial with no MTM is driving me crazy for some reason. PVM offers me all the same views already, why on earth wouldn’t it be easier to just add MTM which basically just shows them all together vs one at a time?

let me know if anyone has any thoughts. Again, SR5 premium package with 14” screen, PVM, Blind Spot, tech package, digital rear view, etc…. Adding JUST drive mode select switch with MTS was plug and play and works, shows on dash display. Even pretty sure it remapped at least accelerator to be less punchy in deep snow mode vs normal drive mode.

It’s possible, placebo effect is very real. I’ll 100% confirm that the gas pedal mapping definitely seems different when in MTS modes after just putting in the switch. Not sure how to prove it, but I played off road in deep snow in both normal 4wd and then MTS deep snow mode and my truck crushed in deep snow mode. Less slipping, more controlled starting, less sensitive gas punching, and maybe even slightly different shifting? That last one I couldn’t really confirm, but the pedal sensitivity mapping seems 100% real and maybe even more sensitive traction control that helped with slipping? If I can gather and definitive proof I’ll post here for sure!
