Ive got a 2000 Tundra SR5 with a V8 thats needs the compressor replaced. I have worked on cars a little in the past but not sure if this is something I should try to do myself. Any suggestions?

yep bank account is running low from it..
For AC have the system discharged at shop. You can replace the compressor your self but don't forget about the expansion valve. After you have all that take to the shop vacuum test for leaks put freon in and your good to go.

Most they will not warranty the compressor unless you buy a new drier with it.. Kind of a given anymore.
