If my garage wasn't big enough I'd have a $2000 carport installed to protect the $40,000 truck

Living in Alaska, garage is mandatory for me. We went with an oversized 3 car on our new house. Fits her 4 Runner, my truck, and my General perfectly. The snowmachine is fine living outside.

The garage in my old house was small and did not the Tundra. So when I was looking for new house, I wanted a bigger garage. It had to be 3 car garage and must fit my Tundra. I was so excited to finally be able park my Tundra in the garage next to my Corvette. Well that didn't last long...Fast forward to today, my Tundra sits outside. Recently sold Corvette. So now our Sequoia and wife's Lexus Rx350 is in the garage. The 3rd garage bay is full with my tools, car parts, mower, bikes, kids toys, etc. I need a bigger garage lol

I'm in the process of remodeling my garage... Right now it's more like a shade with a gate... But that only makes it easier to remodel. Barely fits the truck with about 30 cm to spare (divided between both ends), can't fit both cars.

I love working on my vehicles and can definitely use the extra storage and room to spare when moving big parts around. I hope to start mid December and finish it by the end of February with all the bells and whistles.

The garage is a big deal for me. Especially in the winter when an outside vehicle is freezing cold and the windshield is iced over every morning.

I wish I could garage it but at the end of the day I could care less. My wife has her Lexus garaged and my truck is so dirty most of the time it’s not worth the time to clean but occasionally. I also bought it used so it isn’t worth the price of a new one. Maybe if I was in a Northern State I would think about it more... but maybe I abuse my truck.

Haven’t parked a car in the garage since we bought our house. It’s been over 5 years. May not ever park in the garage again....unless we for some reason decide to move.

The gym will always have number 1 priority.

I have restricted my mods for the Tundra to ensure it still fits in the garage..I have almost reached max vertical height... but it still fits!

    Same here exactly!

I try to keep the truck in my shop at a different location but this is not always realistic.

But at least I can watch it in there!

For those with really tight tolerances, I’ve been using garage lasers for 4 years and they work outstanding. They have actually prevented my wife from ramming into my boat tongue which is a miracle to say the least.

1/2 ton is about 3" too long for my garage. Very frustrating. Especially since it's extra wide so there's plenty of space side to side.

Better than the tennis ball from a string? I’ve got about 2 in clearance in the front, maybe 5 in the back. I’d entertain a laser but it’s gotta be accurate to within a 1-2 cm. You recommend a particular brand?

I use a 4x4 to stop my wife from driving into the deep freeze. Same system my parents have. Plus then it's right there when it's time to put her winter tires on and the summer ones need some coaxing to come off.

Bought our first house end of summer so I finally have a garage. Two car and a shop in the back. Wife’s outback is always in there. I keep my side open but I’ve only parked in there maybe a handful of times. It barely fits both ways but it does, just gotta make sure I don’t get any snow built up in the front because then I’ll probably hit. Going to be awesome this winter though when big storms are coming or hail. Usually I opt to park outside though, might be different if I get a garage door opener on my side though.

My thoughts - if you can get your vehicles under something, good. Get them in something, better. Get them in a climate controlled space, best. Just had a ductless mini split installed in our insulated garage ... wifey very happy to have a warm truck to go to work in. Can't stand leaving my vehicles to sit out in the elements when we're not using them.

My dad says a heated garage means you're more likely to have water condense into your gasoline in winter.

Maybe ... but I've had my truck for almost 10yrs and it's typically parked in a ~50deg garage through Winter ... no running issues with it, or any other vehicles we own for that matter.
