After reading how much of a pain it is to replace a broken antenna base, WTF, Happy Father's Day to me! Done and ordered.

So does this eliminate the need to remove the antenna when going thru a car wash?

I ordered the antenna right after the OP created this thread. I received it pretty quickly and immediately installed it on my truck. My opinion, it works great and looks great for being a stubby. However, there are a couple stations that I listened to regularly that has trouble coming through. With that said, it isn't perfect, but possibly the best alternative you'll find as far as stubby's go. It's about 80%-90%. (Went through the car wash and it was fine)

The bottom line is that stubby antennas look good but do not perform well. 80% to 90% means you are just accepting the cosmetics of the antenna and not the performance. Hopefully Toyota will come out with something can perform to OEM standards.

Yup! I've gone thru the carwash several times since installing it with no problems. I only use the touch less carwash however, so I'm not sure how it will fair in a soft touch or brush type carwash.

Just got mine today. Reception is just as good and so much better looking than the OEM one!

Also ordered. One of the first things I got for my truck when I bought it was an Amazon stubby antenna. I ended up returning it after less than a week -- reception was garbage. Hopefully this one is better!

80-90% is an accurate rating. But it does look way better.

I posted this in another thread and on my build page, but these antennas are legit. I live way out of town and worked flawless. If uve been looking for a stubby, this is the one to get!

Thanks TTU19. Agreed. The mfg. is going to have some tundras.com business coming their way. Good for them. I'd love to know how they solved this.

Installed mine yesterday and didn't notice any difference in reception. Looks great. Glad I made the change. Thanks for passing on the info!

Come on fellas... Get on board. There will be no regrets, I am very satisfied with my antenna. Great look and the reception is very, very close to stock. 0aff81257cff6875218c32e33b12f30b_daae09f6723dfbb6f68e0892113675504302106e.jpg

We probably should have contacted them and tried to set up a group buy. They probably sitting there wondering why sells on this one are blowing up all the sudden, ha. But $18 is well worth it.

Maybe the people who have not yet gotten it could set it up for future buyers. Specially if one of us that have it would have to replace it in the future for any reason. Like getting it stolen. (I would live to catch somebody doing something like this or any damage to my truck)

It's good to hear so many of you are having good luck with your antennas. I'm going on one month with mine and it's been just as good as the stock antenna everywhere I've gone. I recently went home to PA for a few days, reception on interstate 80 thru Indiana and Ohio was excellent. At my camp in north central PA, where radio stations are few and far between and the mountains kill reception (including my cell phone) I still had great reception of the little local station that I like to listen to as well as a couple of other distant stations. The next travel test will be in a few months when I head to Colorado.

Yeah I think they will get alot of business from here. That's my Standard Poodle. He is 9 years old. Great ball retriever and has some solid tricks like a secret bark command (touch your right ear) , "bang dead" and waving at cars which is a trick only I seem to enjoy ;)
