I’m looking for a little bit more sound for my 18 Crewmax. Is a Flowmaster 50 a good choice?

Talk to him. He can make what you want and I think I've read there's a guarantee, you get the sound you want or he replaces it? @dirtydeeds would need to verify that though.

The most inexpensive basic kit that is on the website is like 500-600 dollars.

    I’m thinking under $200.

Buy a muffler off of Amazon and have a local exhaust shop weld it on. Flowmaster 50 will sound good. You'll be out the door for less than $200. Or spend $500 and up on another company for the shit

What are the pipe sizes on a 2018 CrewMax 5.7L?
Is it 2.25” inlet and 3.0” outlet?

That's how I feel about it, so mine remains stock except for a single turn down ahead of the axle with a resonator. My lowered rear suspension required tail pipe elimination.

What do you mean by too aggressive? That actually made me giggle since every flowmaster I have heard in person sounds like a jet is taking off yet the vehicle is barely moving.

The beauty of a bamufflers system is the fact that you can fully reverse the modification when it’s time to trade in the truck. You don’t have to give your $200 to the new owner. You can sell the used system for 2/3 to 1/2 half what it cost new.

You will still be into your exhaust for more than $200. But do you really want a $200 system in your truck? Tundras are difficult to build an exhaust on that doesn’t drone, and doesn’t lose low end torque.

Here at bamufflers we have both issues perfected.

Call for details. I’m happy to help.

Okay, it does seem to make more sense to go with a standard budget system. I’ll just have to wait a little longer for the extra bucks.

Another vote for BAMuffler...talk to Keith...he really knows his stuff. I posted a similar thread a few months ago and had lots of replies where people threw money away on other systems and ultimately ended up going to @dirtydeeds in the end. I couldn't be happier with mine!

I was in the same boat as you when trying to find exhaust for my 08 with the 4.7L. I talked to @dirtydeeds a few times through email and he was very helpful. All of the reviews I read were also good and everyone seems to like the sound. In the end though I ended up putting a 50 series Flowmaster on mine, and while I'm sure I would have been happy with his system, I have no complaints about my 50 series. For a daily driver, it gives it just enough of a sport/aggressive tone to let you know it's not stock, but not so loud you can't think. I used to have true dual 40's on an old K-5, and while I miss that car, I don't miss driving that exhaust daily.

The tough part for me was there aren't a lot of modded Tundra's in SC, and I never was able to hear one of Keith's systems in person. That along with having it shipped across the country, I couldn't get passed my luck of something not going right with install when I got it. While his systems definitely are awesome, I also was not able to spend the money. I ended up getting the stock muffler cut off, a 50 series welded in, and dual tail pipes out behind each tire with new tips. Like I said, I'm happy with my system and it cost $350 instead of closer to $1k for the one I would have gotten from Keith. I'm sure if I had the money to spend, I would have been more than happy with one of his custom built systems as well. I would definitely talk to him though, each time he was very nice and helpful through emails and took time to explain things. My 4.7 would not have used his normal built systems and he would have had to make a different one for it as well.

I find that the oem exhaust is pretty decent. Even has a slight drone on its own. I here Flowmaster can be pretty bad with drones.

Does the bamuffler still come in a 10"? OP says he want's a "little more sound" I'm not familiar with FM but is the 50 loud or subtle, how is it vs the Budget System, 6", 8", or 10"?

Each is custom made, so he can make it. I got the 8" BAMuffler...quiet at idle and highway cruising...great throaty sound when you step on it. It took less than 30 minutes to install. Everything lined up perfectly. I couldn't be happier with the sound

The website says the “50” in down in the mild range. A friend of mine has one and its throaty when he steps on it but doesn’t bother the neighbors when he leaves foe work.

I’m still leaning toward the BA budget setup. I just need to wait a bit longer.

I have the 50, its a nice low tone rumble. No drone at all and I dont think it wakes the neighbors but I can hear it when I remote start it from indoors. Its tamable when you want to be quieter in your hood. It is beefy from drivers around you but very quiet in the cab.
