A build for speed and handling, I know it sounds crazy.

I'm still waiting for my long tube AR header's to come in from PS, but the 2.2 pulley is here, new belt and I'm also going to change out the idler pulley as well. Hopefully this pulley will keep the boost at 11psi with the header's.

 

Yes! You should stuff that bigger airfilter in the prospeed intake. It could use it

left is what came with my Prospeed right is the AFE I linked. Should fit and has more area for air

 

I think mine came with that filter, looks the same. Maybe??

 

On the way, thank you for the info, I think just being able to get air in at the front filter will help too.

 

Definitely! So the one that came with it is about 6” moving to a 9” and open top should for sure help. Let me know how it goes!

Quick update - I have a 2.2 ready to go with a new belt from @snivilous, I had to cancel my ARH header order from Prospeed, I ordered them in March, was told 10-12 weeks, at week 13 I had to call them for an update, they said they're not even manufactured yet. I went with a different header company and they should be here by the end of the month. While I was waiting, I also ordered a Powertrax rear differential. It looks like this fall and winter I will be starting the engine build. I plan on doing cams, valves, springs,ported heads and a built bottom end. I need to figure out if I'm staying with the stock bore, or going to a 6.0.

 

Wicked! Brian crower stroker is my plan and leave the heads alone with upgraded hardware etc. can’t wait to see what you end up doing.

 

The header's came in today. I also order my short block from XAT Racing, Andrew knows his stuff when it comes to the 5.7

 

Oh snap! What specs did you go with for the short block?? I'm planning to do the same with the BC stroker.

 

I went with stock size, Manley position and BC rods, ARP main and head studs, I also added the upgraded oil pump and the ATI dampener pulley system, and upgraded the Radiator. They said its about 30 days out.

 

30 days not bad at all! Did you drop the compression at all? Can't wait to see this come together.

That’s awesome, did he find you a donor block then? And is your plan to just run the stock one until it blows or swap it out before it blows and up the boost big time?

 

No, they are building it for me, I will send them my core, less down time for my shop. I wanted to build it in house, but the machine shop said it would take 3-6 weeks to balance everything. This way once I have all the parts, we won't need to wait on anything else.

No that's an additional hole. There's another one from the factory

 

I plan next year to get a bigger blower and a built transmission. For now, install the 2.2 and lean it out a bit with the built bottom end.

 

Factory hole is to the left/forward in the stock position. That is rey's SABM. Someone posted the recommended cut for that box which basically removes all the material between the SABM and stock holes.

I think the technical term is airbox taint.
