i got the same charger. i didnt cut all the way through. Just the underside plastic ribbing and it was tough to get it to link up w/ my phone case. i then tore off the plastic casing from the charger and mounted that directly underneath and now i can charge with a fairly thick phone case. i dont care that the charger doesnt have the case as i never see it under the arm rest.

@916tundra does the HU have the ability to send power to a front camera? Im guessing that is on one of the harnesses?

    @916tundra

Do you have your HU / Is there any way to get the HU to launch Carplay automatically when you plug in your phone?

My pioneer immediately pulls up carplay on the screen as soon as I connect my iPhone, just curious. I will be utilizing it in a similar manner as you, CarPlay only pretty much.

While the 2-10” Focal subs have plenty of bass, I think this might be my next project. Should I add 2 more or even 3?

@916tundra Mine came in today and I got it all installed. A few questions.
1.)How did you get the steering wheel controls to work? I cant find anything about setting the vehicle type for it to learn.
2.) I don't know which cable is the GPS antenna cable? There are 3 potential cables? Mine didn't come with a GPS SD card installed. Note: Waze and Google Maps works fine, but the built in GPS app doesn't.
3.) My truck still beeps with lock/unlock
4.) The Blutooth OBD 2 adapter works just fine with a phone and the OBD 2 connected.
5.) Where did you install your USB cables & carplay adapter?
6.) There are 2x gold coaxial type connectors on the back of the unit, one is clearly GPS idk what the other is? Satellite Radio?

    1) steering wheel control. Go to settings, car factory settings, password is 126, canbus choose number 8.
    2) use this adapter with the small coaxial adapter and hook up to the gps cable with the foam.

The other usb for CarPlay adapter is on the opposite side. Since you have a center console, you have to be creative with routing it.
This is where I ran mine.

@jmevis the other coaxial adapter in the back of the head unit i think is for WiFi. There should be a short antenna included in the package.

    @916tundra THANK YOU!

The steering wheel controls work now! But it no longer beeps when locking. It'll be this afternoon before I can pull it apart to add the wifi antenna.

My unit didn't have an SD card installed in the GPS slot did you take yours out of your etune unit and add it? I did and that doesn't seem to be the answer because I GPS kicks an error even though I have the right cable plugged in.

How long does yours take to boot mine seems to take quite a long time (20-30 seconds.)

I found out you can view the rear camera at any time. Under the "Car Factory Settings" Select yes on front camera. This will download an app that you can switch between a front and rear view at any time.

It was real nice driving to work this morning with Waze :bananadance:

For those of you thinking about doing it, it definitely has more gain (volume) you have to go in the settings and boost the amplifier but it for sure gets louder.

Pretty responsive? No jitter/stutter? It's why I got away from Android phones, they weren't as smooth or polished.

No issues yet, the rear camera isn't as clear, I'm assuming the reverse camera isn't a high megapixel count. I haven't installed my front face camera which is supposed to be 720p resolution.

The screen it self is very responsive. No issues opening apps, I still need to figure out how to use it. Just like a new phone.

    1) I am assuming that locking/unlocking no longer beeps because we changed the canbus. Hopefully we can figure this out because I do miss it. I have to look at the light to confirm the truck is lock.
    2) My HU did come with a SD card but I’m not sure it’s for the GPS app. I don’t use that app anyway because I use carplay google map or apple map, much faster. You should contact Dasaita to send you a SD card if you really need it.
    3) cold boot is about 20-25sec. If you go into settings, car, extra settings, shutting delay. You can change the shutdown delay up to 1 hour. That means it will fastboot within the hour. I have mine at 30 mins because it does use some power from battery.
    4) my front camera setting is on. Which app did it download for you?
    5) the rear camera is blurry because the stock camera resolution is bad.
    6) I agree with you that the HU does have more gain and I would say the sound quality is better than stock HU.

How do you like the HU so far?

@jmevis go into the gps antenna or signal app on the HU to see if you have signal strength. If you don’t, your wiring/adapters are not connected correctly or might be something else

1.) There are some sub options under the canbus type maybe it could be one of those. I agree I miss the beep.
2.) I have an SD card in the 2nd slot but not the GPS slot didn't know if it was needed or not.
3.) Perfect I will change that setting
4.) It's an app call "F-CAM" I believe. It automatically showed up as an app after the HU rebooted for changes made.
Loving the HU so far. I wish I didn't have to select connect to my phones hot spot every time. But I wonder if I change the shutdown delay if it'll connect automatically.

I'm thinking about looking in to a USB 4g LTE hub or something so I dont have to connect to wifi every time.

@jmevis I see that you have the red and white rca hooked up in one of your photos. What is it for? Are you using the included microphone? Or are those rca for the factory microphone?

@916tundra The red and white were labeled Aux L & Aux R I'm assuming its the 3.5mm aux cable connection in the center console by my USB port. But I guess it could be the mic cable I was able to talk to text earlier while connected to Bluetooth and I didn't think that would work since I haven't run my mic cable yet.

@jmevis I’m glad you also got the HU. It’s nice to have other people’s input and hopefully work out all the minor bugs/issues.
