Are those the Demello hybrids? I got rid of mine because they would flex and hit the body. They have 30” to the rear that is unsupported :censored:

I should give credit and thanks to @TRON for the info he gave me with regards to the stuck valve. Steffan had recently experienced the same issue and basically told me how to fix it by breaking it.:D I think his tank was replaced whereas mine is now "repaired". Also, @Vizsla, I mentioned the problem to him initially and he knew exactly what the problem was. WTF? How do you know this s4it? Thanks Bud

Did your fueling problem start right away? Seems like mine got progressively worse. I'm debating whether I should drop the tank and mess with this valve since thats free or just spend the money on an evap canister since that easy haha

You know how sometimes you just get a bad pump nozzle at the gas station? Well, I remember experiencing that a few times and once shortly before T2S. So, I'm not too sure if there was a slow onset, no conclusive evidence. I didn't have issues on the way to Sedona but did before I left. What a PITA getting home. LOL
Depending on how many times you've topped off, say 20 or more, I'd guess your evap can. And one of your recent adventures (;)) may have allowed some fuel to drain into the evap can. The stuck inertia valve isn't that common as far as I know, I only know of 1 other 3rd gen that had the issue. But as soon as I mentioned it @Vizsla correctly diagnosed the problem so I'd wanna know what he says. I'm only guessing.
How bad is your issue? It was obvious with mine. I'd fill maybe 2 cups of gas and the pump would click off, 2 cups off, rinse and repeat for 30 min. to fill the tank.

Yeah thats how mine is. I kept thinking I was getting bad nozzles. But then the last 2 or 3 fill ups the clicking became more common. On the last fill up it would click every second or 3 at the most. I ended up holding the vapor hose back and pouring the gas in. Made it faster because it didn't click off all the time, but I still had to fill at half speed.

I couldn't even fill at half speed, pulling the vap hose didn't help. Seriously, 2 cups at a time.

so you pull back the vapor hose and pour the gas in, and it drains super slow? Maybe I do have a bad evap canister...

Yep. You could actually pull the vapor boot back and see it slowly draining into the tank as if it was blocked, 'cause it was. When I dropped the tank and saw the inertia valve it was fully closed. There's still a possibility yours is only partially closed. But that seems unlikely 'cause when I barely touched it with a screw driver it snapped open with force. Then I decided to permanently disable it. Dropping the tank to inspect is easy and free but time consuming. It would eliminate that possibility w/o needlessly spending money. With those used evaps you don't know what the prior owner did in terms of topping off, though I doubt it's common practice.
My guess in your case would be evap.

Yes, won't happen right away but it will lead to "fouling" the charcoal canister.

Actually if it ends up being an easy fix, it probably was worth getting 3 more gallons in every trip. When I know gas will be an issue, I usually squeeze in like an extra 2 dollars and then I chicken out. :D

Well I guess step one is for me to fork over a couple hundo and see if the evap canister is actually bad. If that corrects the issue then I'll probably stop topping off. I can carry 4 cans if fuel if I need to so topping off is kind of unnecessary for me

I found used, 2nd gen evap units on ebay for around $150. Not sure what the 3rd gen would cost.

yeah bunch of used ones for $150 to $200. Some of them look almost new, but that could be because they spent time to clean them up LOL

I won't know for a few weeks. Need to get The Truck off the blocks first

Ok, I've gotten a few requests for this parts list and @Sunnier suggested I just put it in my build thread. So here's the list of parts that I've used to build a few AIP kits.
    3. 10 AN 90* elbows.
    1. 120* 10 AN elbow
    [IMG]
    6'. 10AN stainless/nylon hose
    [IMG]
    2. 10 AN to 3/4" hose adapters
I use 3/4" Pex tubing, expand it and put it over the barbed end. This is the connection to the factory hose. Seems goofy but works really well.
    2. 10 AN to 1/2" hose adapters to connect your filters.
    2. 13mm Crankcase filters of your choice.[IMG]

Since going LT I have hit the outer most elbow twice and dislodged it from the OE hose. I don't have fender liners presently and there is a factory location where I can strap/clamp the hose to keep it out of the way. I'll try to provide pics when complete and will be "field" testing in Big Bear next weekend.
