I wore mine out and never had a flat, not for lack of trying. I think the STT Pros are really good tires.

I just wanna try a new brand for comparison. KM3’s is the only tire I’d give up the STTs for. But I just bought 2 new STTs so it won’t be until I move up to 37’s.

I got used fiberglass fenders. I wouldn't recommend this route as there were a lot of repairs required. Shortcomings with fiberglass fenders are they tend to develop spider cracks and rock chips pretty easily. Fortunately I have, from a lifetime around boats, a bit of experience repairing fiberglass. I decided to go with carbon fiber since my truck is black and I don't wanna paint it just to watch new pinstripes develop. Carbon fiber is a very different animal compared to fiberglass so I went to a good friend for help and education. Man, did he school me!
So this is in his shop with peel ply on top of 2 layers of 2x2 carbon.

i've been kicking the idea of 37s when the current 35s are done. that'll force me into getting off my ass for the gears. looks good.

boats. surfboards. it's all the same.

just start keeping some of this in the truck.

working with CF would be fun though. wouldn't mind learning that sometime myself.

I like the look of 37s, and they work really well with the 5.29 ratio, just kinda wish I had 17" wheels.
You know you can use Polyester, Vinylester (my favorite) or epoxy with fiberglass but only epoxy with carbon fiber for proper results. And, no West Systems stuff, just something super clear and UV stable like Systems Three or similar for an application like this. The amount of resin is a LOT more critical with the carbon as it'll "float" up off the surface with too much resin. I seriously learned a ton today. He and I laid up the 2 larger fender parts and then I did the small ones myself so he could get back to work. The peel ply was super cool 'cause it made the surface turn out flat as if we'd vacuum bagged. To do a front fender the way we did requires 2 people to just to lift the wetted out fabric and place it w/o distorting the weave. I'm considering doing the bedsides as well.

I dropped the tank out of the truck today. Somehow, at T2S the inertia/ roll over valve got stuck. The valve is intended to stop fuel from leaking should you try parking the truck on it's roof. This made for a miserable drive home as I/ we were only able to add a teaspoon of gas at a time. Thanks to the Bastrds, @sr5shark, @joonbug. @Shelbie67, @InfernoPRO, @GodlessPro, who helped pump gas in shifts into the blocked tank. It took roughly half an hour to get 15 gallons of fuel into the tank and the trip home required roughly 60 gallons.
Just behind the jack handle is the fill tube. Once the fill tube is removed a "bulls eye" is visible. This is kinda like a sink drain and keeps unwanted siphon hoses out of the tank. About 6" beyond the opening is a steel flap valve. I stuck a screw driver in and the valve popped right open.
    IMG_20190508_180818003_HDR.jpg
This is the "bulls eye". I decided to remove it in case the flap valve got stuck again, thinking I could use a snake, a piece of hose or even compressed air to open the valve. I used the fine wire and hooked the bulls eye to keep it from falling into the tank. Just a couple of raps with a sharp screwdriver cut it out cleanly. Then I decided I really don't trust that valve. So, with the trusty screwdriver I ensured the valve won't fail again.
The numbnuts at the stealership stuck a borescope in through the fill tube and said they couldn't see anything or get for enough in to see the valve. For that conscientious 5 min. of work they wanted $165? WTF? To fix it??? A new tank for $1,300 plus labor. I'm in the wrong effing business! It took me all day, working in the dirt, to drop the tank, fix it, remove the slider on that side, straighten the slider, and reinstall everything. I should note that I ran the tank to nearly empty before starting and tested the in flow of fuel before reinstalling.

What a PIA Warren, glad you got it fixed that's sounds like a nightmare of a drive home. I would have done the same thing after that and rip all the stuff out. Dropping the tank is not a fun job. I have to drop the tank for the third time on my Sequoia project somehow the sensor got messed up when we were putting in the high-flo fuel pump for the Supercharger. Thought I have it fixed once but still messed up.

It is already a 38 gallon tank and I don't really want a 46 gallon transfer flow tank, they hang a little low for my taste.

That's a bummer Greg. Once is one more time than anyone should have the pleasure of dropping a tank. Is the sensor on the pump assembly so that you have to pull the pump out of the tank?

Pretty sure you have an inertia valve in your tank too. I think it's unusual for the valve to get stuck like mine did so not too likely you'll ever have a problem, luckily.
Not sure if it was balancing the truck on a rock at Greasy Spoon or if I came down hard on it at Smiley Rock but the rear door was hitting the slider. That's the longest unsupported section of tubing and honestly I didn't know enough to spec DOM. In retrospect I kinda wish I'd gone with WK sliders. But parking the back hoe on the slider and beating it with a sledge fixed it for now.:D
