Yeah, conditions look tough in those pics with all the mud. Sucks you can’t get a break in the weather to get that thing done.

Yeah, sucks but had to park there instead of the other driveway 'cause that's where the 220v is for the welder.

OK, 5 7/8" of rain in the last 20 hrs. kept me from working outside today. Thanks to a lot of communication with @dcsleeper408 and some pictures from @n2deep I managed to get the inner CV disassembled and cleaned. This procedure SUCKS, greasy, grimy is an understatement. But here in Santa Cruz there's not 1 place to get gears done, not 1 place to get axles done but,,,,, there are 215 dispensaries for pot. 5 o'clock came too soon and I was unable to buy a piece of 2" pipe to remove the CV on the other side.

Had to order new front bakes, mine were toast. I just ordered these from @eccracer104 Monday and they're here already.... Yipee.... more work to do..:facepalm:Thanks Mike!

That's a messy job and mine leaked after. Can't believe there isn't someone in town that does CV's. Did you ask the local shops and see if they outsource?

    Smart!

Also if you ever bust a CV on a trail and don't have a spare you can separate the ends you can plug the diff and use the snout in your hub to keep the wheel bearing attached (at least that's how it works on a taco)

I am sooo tired of wrenching but the LT kit is in, thanks @roypark .
I've got a new understanding of how the alignment works which will come in handy next time @joonbug hits a rock. :D Still a bunch of little stuff to take care of, reinstall armor, install the fenders (might do something a little different) add more preload on the springs (need the wrench) etc. I also have to address a broken leaf spring. So the rear is gonna happen sooner than I'd planned.IMG_20190215_162116363.jpg IMG_20190217_160723193.jpg IMG_20190224_162839138.jpg

With another week of rain in the forecast it's time to make some more kitchen cabinet doors and make some deposits into the marriage account!

Thanks Francis. I just had a revelation, I don't need the preload wrench, a 5/16" punch should work?

Nice Warren, Congrats it's a big job. You don't need to run the diff drop kit with LT, I would recommend removing it as in some cases it can cause the axle to hit/rub against the coil spring at full droop.

Hells yeah Warren!!! When is the shake down run???

I carry an inner joint and an outer cup now. I blew the outer joint inner cage on the trail last summer. The cup was still good so I was able to hold my bearing together and stuff a rag in the diff to keep dirt out. Drove 500 miles; finished the trip and limped it home. One day I'll build a whole axle and carry that, but for now and outer and inner should be enough for me to limp it home in 2wd if I have another problem.

Yeah I removed my diff drop too. Most LT kits are designed for factory angles so diff drop is not needed

Ahh.... Yeah that should happen soon (interweb pressure) LOL! I have my stock leafsprings I can give to you if you want for temporary haha. It'll be double the work to put them on and then pull them off later when you get better packs, but that's if you want them lol.

Thanks Greg, for some reason I thought it was necessary for LT. I'll definitely take your advice and pull it out.
