??? You mean the C/Os from Matt come with a flutter stack? I haven't rebuilt any shocks yet so my knowledge is lacking.

Pretty sure yes. I bought basically direct from ADS, Brian told me the coilovers use a flutter. I would assume the sets from MCM are valved the same, i wouldn't imagine them to be different.

A few upgrades coming soon. 5.29 gears and an ARB locker will hopefully be installed next week.
Then, around the end of Jan, it'll be time to begin installing the LT kit for the front hopefully with some help from @dcsleeper408.
And, I still need to install the new Icom, dual band radio that I bought back in Nov.IMG_20190109_082235867.jpg

Yep, Boss 4x4 had 4 "intorductory" sets of Nitro's so I picked up a set. I made an appointment for next Wed. to have gears and locker installed. When ebay had one of their 10% off deals I got a locker 'cause that was the only way I could find a deal on one.

@831Tun Warren!!! dude... so stoked for you to join the LT club.. its life changing..

and you are correct, best setup for the front end is a flutter stack in the coilover with 700lb spring then run your bypass shock as well to deal with the bigger stuff on compression and rebound

im not 100% on the flutter in ADS MT coilover, if brian says yes and Matt @M C M says yes then they do. I switched the standard 12/15 stack to a flutter stack and 700lb coils on my LT front coilovers and its so much nicer of a ride both on and off road. Id almost say thats how they should be built however, i know after talking with TC about the king spec shocks, they built them to suit more mild offroading guys, not crazy people like SGU and bastards LOL so we have to step up to a heavier rate spring and different valving. Anyway let me know if you have any questions on the LT front install. Its pretty straight forward, but im only a phone call away if you have any trouble.

Cant wait to see you out on the trail with a shit eating grin on your face!!

King builds all there stuff that way unless you specify - Running a flutter stack in my coils and a 20 stack in my bypasses.

Thanks Bruce. The SGU crew sure makes LT look like the way to go (sorry Kevin LOL) I'm sure I'll have some questions. The axles are the only part of the build that I'm unfamiliar with. I'd like to replace my rack bushings while I'm in there too so I don't pull an Alex.
I'll have to check with Roy about the valving, guessing it's standard.
Hopefully the Bastrds can run with SGU again this year. That was an awesome trip with great people.

Thanks for that info. I'll ask Roy what he ordered and see if a re-valve before I install is necessary. It might be cool to run dual rate springs too.

That’s a great setup, congrats. I hope to see it in action out on the trail when we get SGU and Bastards together again. Bruce installed it on Roy’s truck so I’m sure he has all the valving details and such.

Yeah I’m like the neighborhood bike... everyone gets a ride lol!!

But yeah I did the install his coil overs were standard spec Kings. I don’t think he had them revalved.. let me check on that... but as far as doing the CV’s there are some tricks and tips to it... it’s not the easiest thing to talk through. Might be better to find a shop who can swap the axles for you. Give me a call this weekend and I can try and explain it to you.. plus you need to order some parts from Toyota these clips you have to replace when you do the job.. can not use originals.

As far as dual rate.... I would highly advise against that..the coils are already short and your trying to jam two springs and an additional collar in a small space I don’t even think it’s possible or worth it... proper flutter with 700lb spring is amazing... I felt the original spring and valve setup was too soft... even w bypasses... but you might like the fee. W stepping up to LT it’s trial and error. I’d say run it as is.. tune it drive it and see what you think... then if you don’t like it pull it out and have it revalved.

As far as the rack goes yeah do it while you are in there! You have to do a full alignment after install of LT anyway... so may as well. Plus there is a bit more room to work w the axles pulled out and no suspension on. I’d say strip it down then do the rack bushings then install LT

Considering how much your "bike" gets ridden, I'll take that advise. No duals and run 'em like they are for now. The clips and a couple boot kits should arrive this week. Now to order those rack bushings.

Ok good deal so you know about those parts then that’s good... the hard part is separating the cv races and keeping all the parts in order and knowing how they go on.. the race cage is kinda weird like one of those puzzles where it only goes on and off one way. And you have to make sure it’s oriented correctly. Again not impossible just a slime greasy messy job that’s detail oriented.

Yes, gears and a rear locker were installed last week. The ratio is really low even with 35s, seems pretty "snappy." I kept waiting for it to shift on the highway, then realized it was already in 6th. So, it's holding gears on the highway much better and shifting seems smoother. I can feel that it's much easier on the tranny. I've only got 70 mi. on them so far and 50 of that was the drive home so not a lot to report yet. I'm gonna be installing long travel in the front very soon so don't plan to get the required 500 mi. break-in completed for a while.

Roughly 2,200. I used to see about 1,800 but it would downshift on the slightest of grades. I think with 37s it oughta be perfect.
