Wondering how the ride is? I have bumper/winch and running the rough country n2.0 struts. Since I added the extra weight, the ride has gotten really bad. Looking for an upgrade. Help!

I would do the 6112s with a stiffer spring. Perhaps 700# springs since you have a huge ass bumper, winch and lights. I mean, your bumper replaces the headlight trim... I'm sure that's not light.

Your truck looks like it wants to punch someone in the face. BA! I think you need some heavier springs and possibly some 2.5 front shocks.

Yeah, it's not pretty light. The ride was rough before the bumper and winch. Now, I'm trying to avoid potholes and such. It's also sagging more, I'm rubbing now, but for the 1st month I was fine.

I agree you need stiffer coil springs. The 6112 shocks, though, are probably valved for the 600# springs that come with it. If so, and you go with 700# or greater springs, shock damping may be less than optimal, especially with a heavy bumper/winch combo added up front.

If it were me, I’d go with an adjustable coilover with at least a 700# spring, maybe a 750# spring? For non-adjustable, I think OME offers a coilover specifically for heavy bumper/winch combos. You can also call Toytec and ask for their suggestion. They seem to know their stuff on which suspensions that work for any particular setup.

My 6112s on top setting, seem to perform fine with my setup. Although i had a noticeable change after winch/bumper and wheels and tires. It certainly doesnt perform as well as it did. I think a spring upgrade would suffice, but for the time being i will ride it out. For the sole purpose of not having to make any other adjustments next time ill just buy the shocks/springs all at once.

Got 6112s(1.9” setting) with Hammerhead bumper (~210 lbs w/o winch). Ride is improved over stock. Installed bumper and bilstiens at the same time so I can’t speak to the changes incrementally.

I thought the 6112s come with a 600 lb spring? If so, I suppose you could always swap in a 700 lb spring, but the shock itself may not be valved for the heavier spring rate.

    Not many yet, mostly stock.
I have ToyTech Radflos 3/1 and a similar thing is happening to me with all the added weight, Bumper, RCI skid plates, Winch to be installed very soon. So my ride is not horrible, but its bumpier than it was.. 700 lb spring... Still not to worrired about it much. Wonderin how bad yours is?

FWIW I have a Gen 2 6112's top setting and installed a DV8 front bumper and checked the ride height many weeks later and the change from stock bumper to aftermarket was almost unmeasurable, less than a 1/16"

To be clear I do not have a winch in the new bumper yet.

Expedition One Front Bumper w/Warn 10-S winch TRD Dual Exhaust ARE CX Camper Shell OME 613 Full suspension kit with Dakar rear springs.
For what it's worth, I'm running OME613 (heavy bumper) and I hate them. I got the full kit with dakar leaf springs in the rear, those I'm pretty happy with, but front not so much. I have the expedition one bumper with winch(synth line), which puts it somewhere in the 250-280lb range and the OME's are crazy stiff. I've gotten used to their stiffness, but what makes me hate them is I only get about 1 inch of droop now so every time I come off a speed bump, pothole, rock I get a huge thud when it hits max droop suddenly. There are plenty of others out there running them and not really complaining, but for me, I'm saving up for adjustable coilovers.. probably Kings.

This thread caught my attention b/c I like the price on the 6112's and haven't completely ruled them out, but not sure how they do with a heavy front.

Did you go with the springs that came with the 6112s? I was wondering if with an aftermarket bumper, you would have to go up in spring weight/number? I think they come with #600. Not sure. Thanks!
