Either the route that @b6graham has proposed or even the Bilsteins a 2.5" will be a significant improvement over what you currently have. Especially when it comes down to ride/capability. Whether you go straight to 2.5" on the circlip is up to you. You're still in an acceptable travel pocket for the coilover, but you do technically capture more downtravel for your ride height with the 1.9" + top plate spacer setup so that "could" lead to a slightly more supple ride.

Just know this much though - If you capture 2.5" out of the Bilsteins whether that be the spacer/circlip combo or purely circlip you will be in the territory of needing new upper control arms to get your alignment back into spec. If you were to go to the 1.9" setting and stay there you could avoid that expense. Just some food for thought.

All said, keep hitting us all with questions as people are happy to help here, and when you're ready to get the goods hit us up over here at Hotshot Offroad (pm me here or call at 406-936-0206) and we can help you out. We can even assemble the shocks to your desired spec as well.

After searching through the forums for almost a year (also just saving), here's my new set up! 6112 set at 2.5" and 5100s in the rear. The front sits a bit high but I will be getting rear shackles later this summer so I'm not too worried. 285/75/17 with 0 offset wheels, had to remove the front mudflap and liner.

Got the lift. 6112 top setting. 2 CB Shims
Driver, 1 passenger. 5160 rear. Currently have 2” block as a place holder before a shop can install the CB+3 shackles. They didn’t have the right press for the bushings. Zone off road control arms. New 285/70/18 Toyo ATIII’s. 1.25” bora spacers. Wish I went larger, but saved some weight and didn’t want to mess with BMC. New rims in the future. Thank you @memario1214 and @Coachbuilder1 for answering my 1 million questions.

Just measured. My post measurements were in a flatter area of my driveway. The pre were in a weird spot. Measured from bottom of the plastic hub cover. The tape sat their easily. About 1.5” to 1 5/8” from center of hub. Full tank of gas.

    Pre lift:
    FD:23
    FP:23 1/16
    RD: 25 1/2
    RP: 24 5/8

    Post lift:
    FD: 26 5/8
    FP: 26 5/8
    RD:27 5/8
    RP: 27 1/8

So got the 3”+ in front. Should settle I hope. Shackles will knock a 1/4” off the back. Want to keep the rake. Rear passenger is a bit higher. Overall, happy with how even it is left to right. Debating keeping the blocks to not lose the 1/4” in the rear. But I’ve heard the CB shackle rides so much smoother. If anyone wants to chime in, I’m all ears.

Shackle only good for empty truck, it sag more when you have weight and it’s a rear spring killer.

Just installed my 6112 today, setting 2 (1.2") and a CB shim on the driver side. I know everything will settle but right now its nose high and I wanted to keep a slight rake, I know its going to settle some but on my short test drive all of the safety sense warning lights came on. I wondering if should set them at setting 1 (0.75') before I go get an alignment?

How are you nose high? What type of truck (year, cab size, 2 wheel or 4 wheel drive) have you done anything to the back?

Is this just visual or did you measure the front and rear? I just don't understand how you are high if you install things correctly and the front was at 1.2. I did mine at 1.9 with a driver side shim and it was pretty level.

For the sensors, try disconnecting the battery for a few minutes. Otherwise, they should go away once you get an alignment.

    Hmmm

I don't have other advice. I'm a 2018 Crewman 4x4 and the 1.9 made me level. I added RAS in the rear to get back rake and to get its benefits.

@memario1214 any idea how setting the 6112 at 1.2 made him nose high?

Looks fantastic, I'm about to install very similar lift at 3rd notch. How much weight do you have in the bed with that camper?

    Thanks!

In the top photo, bed weight is likely around 1000 pounds = GFC Camper (~300lbs), Decked Drawers (~200lbs, empty), all the gear for 4 weeks of travel (~500lbs)

In the bottom photo, bed weight is likely around 600 pounds = GFC, Decked, weekend's worth of gear

The GFC and Decked Drawers live on the truck full time and the Deavers work great with variable weight. Minor differences in height and ride quality between fully loaded and completely empty.

Looking at this option, I like the look! I just want to level I have 20" stock OEM wheels from a 2021 Platinum Tundra. I don't want to screw up the ride or mess with UCA's, shackles or spacers. Will the 6112's accomplish this?

Just wanted to give an update on my 6112s. It's been about 6 years and well over 100K miles on them (maybe even 120K?), and they're still holding up, even after installing a heavier-than-stock front bumper (C4 Fab). No leaks or problems with them whatsoever, but given their age and mileage, it's time to replace them. I'll be replacing them with the Fox 2.5 remote resi's that have been sitting in my garage for a good while, but I admittedly have buyer's remorse for not going with another set of 6112s at a more affordable price, given how well these have held up. Someone else said this in another thread recently, but I agree with their post that said these are probably the best bang for the buck front coilovers for the 2007-2021 Tundras.

Hey all, long time lurker. I've probably gone through this thread 4 times now.
I was wondering if my sensors will go nuts installing 6112's at 1.9" + 2 .50" cb shims driver, 1 passenger and coachbuilder +2” shackles in the rear?
I was thinking of installing airbags in the rear to help keep the rake if any. Or would airbags just sit like bump stops and only engage with 1" of squat or something?

Also, if anyone else can chime in on longevity with their setups that would be sweet!

Running a 6112 setup with your desired lift height and supporting mods will not create any problems in the way of your sensors.

Why do you want airbags? Are you running a ton of weight out back? Share a little bit about your use case there, and I'll give you some thoughts!

    Thanks, appreciate the quick reply!
My 2" coachbuilder shackles are on the way, I'm probably a ways out from install as I want to grab new UCA's as well.

I figured air bags would be easy to install and help with towing. I'm not keen on the Road active suspension setup.
I do haul a lot of garbage and firewood in the back, 16' boat in the summer and maybe a tandem axle trailer soon depending on my job situation. I'll probably get some Deaver leaf springs, especially if I get a camper on the back. I can also borrow the in-laws 34' trailer for camping. Previously I'd use their F250 but they've since sold that so yeah.

At the moment I have a bakflip mx4 tunneau cover which has failed seals second year in.. I load up the back with kids stuff when we go on road trips around 5 times a year seeing the in-laws and family. I could see the MX4 being replaced with a topper, three Boys the wife and dog fill the space quick!

It's going to be a pain to remove shims and run just one .50 for lean so I'm just on the fence about how much rake I'll have. I'm running 275/70r18 Edit: with 1.25" wheel spacers at the moment and probably go 285/70 or then bite the bullet at 295/70r18 :spending::rofl:

Finishing up install, does anyone know if bump stop spacers are required for durobumps if the 6112s are set at max lift? I also got a driver side shim as well.

durobump website says it’s good for 0-3 inches of lift, but saw a diagram floating around stating compression height is the same as stock, which seems like it would need spacers.

I need help. It’s time for new tires. I’m currently running 285 70 17 with 6112’s top setting. That’s all the suspension upgrades I’ve done. How big can I go with my current set up? I’m looking at 285 75 17, 295 70 17. Bigger??
    I’m open to body chopping.
    Thanks all.

TRD Rear Anti-sway bar, TRD Pro skid plate, Bedrug bed mat, 17" Icon Rebounds, 315/70/17 BFG AT/K02, Bilstein 6112s front (for now), Fox 2.5 Remote Reservoirs rear, Diamondback SE, Dirtydeeds Industries 8" stainless BAMuffler, aFe dry air filter, TRD air intake accelerator
I was able to fit 315/70/17s with 6112s set at 1.9" and removing the front bumper plastic flaps. I also had to do a bit of cutting on the plastic fender well just to the rear of the front tires, right where the body mount is. With 17" Icon wheels (which I believe have 25+ offset), I was not hitting the body mount, so no need for any body mount chop on my truck with that setup.

My buddy runs 35's with a 2.5" spacer on stock suspension, 2015 trd off road with 1.25" spacers on the 18" trd wheels.
    - Cut front liner, might be able to heat gun.
    - Removed the mud flaps behind the front tires.
