TRD sway bar, airbag kit, Diamondback HD, LED headlights, Pedal Commander, Bilsteins 6112's up front with shims (2.5 inch lift), 5160s in the rear with CB +2 shackles (1.5 inch lift), Falken Wildpeak AT3W 285/75/18, TRD Pro Grill insert, MattGecko under hood and bed light kit,
Bilsteins 6112 at the 1.9 setting on the front with (2) shims on the Driver's side and (1) on the passenger and Bilsteins 5160s on the rear with CB +2 shackles.

Debating between a 285/75/18 or 295/70/18 on the TRD rims. From all my measurements I should be able to fit either without any trimming.

Go 295/70/18. Will have to remove front small mud flap. Better stance IMO. But post pics with whatever size you go with.

I think 285x75x18 is better unless you are looking for your tire to pop outside the body. If that’s the look your going for, 295’s will pop more. Personally, I’d rather have the height over width.

Nearly the identical setup I installed a couple of weeks ago but +3 CB shackles. I also installed the CB front bumper shims just in case. I’m also torn between taller 285 or wider 295.

Yes, either size will do. Both will be better than the 275/65/18.

Could also consider the 305/70 18. It's a half inch wider than the 295/70, but the same height as the 285/75.

Dumb question time. I have an 2013 Rock Warrior nearing 100K miles and its getting to be time to replace the stock shocks. I'm not looking for a signaficant lift, but would like to the keep the rear at stock height but bring the nose up closer to level. What would be the recommended setting on the front shocks if I go with 6112's?

1.3" if you still want a little bit of rear rake and 1.9 if you want it fairly dead level. With 100k miles I would personally go with the 1.9' front setting and then get the Coach builder shackles +1 and some good shocks which will improve the ride in the rear without lifting it too much. Throw on some 305/70/17 or stay with your 285/70 and will have a much improved look and ride.

Looking to upgrade with 6112/5100 combo. Cannot decide between 6112 @ 2.5" & 295/70/18 tires or 6112 @ 1.9" & 275/70/18 tires. Anyone ever try both setups and have a preference? Thanks!

    Mods, what mods?
I was asking myself that same question a couple of months ago and decided to have mine set up with 6112 @ 2.5" and 5160 with +1 shackles. I have KO2 275/70R18's on my truck. I occasionally take my truck off-road and wanted to be able to handle a "rough" spot on the trail without having to think twice before crossing it. Ask @TRDFerguson or @Olson about the minor damage from crossing the dry bedrock crossing, this past weekend. :(

Visually speaking, it all comes down to preference. If you go with the lower setting in the front, there will be less of a gap between the tires and the fender well. For the width of the tires, you need to figure out your use case. Will you be going off-road often? Do you care about getting poor MPG? Have you thought about which brand of tires you are going to go with?

Sounds like I have a similar situation to what you described. Daily driver for short commute/WFH. Take it out on national forest trails and WMA roads that can be rocky/muddy with holes, etc. but nothing overly aggressive. Already dont get great MPG so it is what it is. I think I like the look of a taller tire with less width so it stands taller and less squatty. 99% sure going with Cooper Discoverer AT3 XLTs. Already bought the SCS ray 10s for 18" wheels.

    Here's a better vision. My setup- 6112 @ 1.9" w/ 0.5" CB Shim (Driver Side), 5160 w/ CB +2 Shackles (1.25" lift). LT295/70/18r Toyo OC AT3.

Depending on what wheel offset you have will determine how much tire poke there is. These are 18x9 +25 offset w/ 295/70/18 Toyo AT3
I like this stance better. (Approx. 1" wider in width)

Here is the BFGoodrich KO2 in 275/70/18 with same lift. (Before I swapped out for the Toyo AT3)

Hope this helps you decide. Good luck on the build. Post some pics, too.

Looks good man! Was the rear sitting low after the lift before you added the +2 CB?
Trying to decide If I’ll need it for my set up. I’m going to run the same as you are but with an extra shim on the drivers side and one on the passenger side.

I think the truck would have leveled out if I did not add the +2 CB shackles. For sure if you set it at 2.5" with the shims too, the front will sit slightly higher than the rear. I choose to keep a slight rake in case I tow, the truck will level instead of sag. If you choose to set it @ 1.9" with the shims, the truck will probably level out. So it comes down to preference. Leveled truck, or slight rake. Have fun on the build. Post some pics, too.

Good to know. Thanks for the input. I’ll post pics when I get the lift, wheels and tires on.
Just waiting on the damn orders to arrive and then a day to do it all.

I noticed your not running a spare when you took pic of the CB shackles. Do you not normally have a spare or figure when going up in size no point? I believe with the CB shackles biggest tire that can be fit is a 33” without hacking away at heat shield and spare tire brackets.

Actually the stock spare is still there. I wouldn’t recommend going bigger on the spare tire, though. It was a tight fit, but it did clear.

Maybe dumb question, but why 2 shims driver side and 1 on passenger side? Why not just 1 on driver side? Just curious, as I’m thinking of a similar setup.
