@equin your tires/wheels look badass. I have a different wheel/tire with 0 offset and rubbed in same location in hard reverse - I let rub and the plastic on the flap whittled down after a while. It is also funny to watch people freak out when I back out sometimes and they hear the noise:eek:. I left the flaps on for the same reason- minimize the rock chips...

Thanks! I actually cut that little piece off, but now that you mention you left yours on and let the tires rub it down, I wish I would’ve gone that route!

You could always go with aftermarket flaps in the future. Take care.

Hopefully the last update. The rubbing continued, so I took the mud flaps off. Continued rubbing some more til I figured out it was rubbing the passenger front bumper. About a year ago my wife had accidentally hit another car and dented the front bumper ever so slightly inward - just enough to cause that tire to rub. I pulled it out using arm strength and no rubbing anywhere now, even while doing some mild off-roading in Colorado.

(I know this is random) how thick are the washers? Is that thickness for a 3” lift?

I haven’t installed it yet so I haven’t looked at the instructions. I am not home so I can’t measure them but I would say they are between 1/16-1/8 inch thick. I am sure Bilstein has instructions online.

Ok so after reading damn near every page, I’ve decided I’m going to be going with the 6112/5160 for my 2017 Crewmax.

I want to run 285/75/18 or 295/70/18 on (stock TRD wheels for now)

my plan is run the fronts at 1.9 with a .50 CB spacer on the driver side and a .25 CB spacer on the passenger side.

aftermarket UCAs (undecided which brand yet)

I also plan on adding the CB front bumper spacer to help with front clearance.
For the rear I was thinking of going CB+1

sound about right to everyone, or will that tire size be an issue? I’m open to running wheel spacers as well if need be.

Tire size will probably push the limits with +60 (stock) backspacing. +25 ish is the sweet spot for clearance. Some folks run wheel spacers so maybe keep that option in mind if you have excessive rubbing. My tires are 285 75 17 (smaller than what u propose) and with +25 on my wheels I had to trim mudflaps for complete clearance. Every vehicle is different as well as tires. So it might work great!

Second truck I have in this thread. My old 18 white platinum is on page 7 I believe. Similar setup on my current truck which is a 1794, 6112’s @ 1.9, 5100’s, Coachbuilder +1 shackles, bronze Icon rebounds w/ Toyo At3 285/75/17’s.

Front 6112 @ 1.9”, 2 CB driver side shims, 1 CB passenger side shim.

Rear 5160’s and CB +3 shackles.

Stock tires until winter when I’ll probably go Toyo Open Country AT3’s in 295/70R18 or 285/75R18. I also have CB front bumper spacers that I’ve yet to install.

I see a lot of members with 18” wheels so I have a question

I truly do like my factory rims where I live is literally the only tundra with those rims but they’re 20”. I’d like to lift the truck but nothing crazy I just HATE how that front looks so much lower than the back.

A lot of people seem to run the 6112/5160 but for me I’d like to know the best set up would be if I just wanted a nice leveled square look? I don’t tow I don’t off road currently I am thinking barely getting into off road I just don’t think I’ll ever do anything crazy. Also since I mentioned that I want to keep my 20” rims would I need any spacers? I am planning on going from 275/55/20 to 285/60 R20. Any suggestions would be great or other thread reads. Thank you everyone in advance!

Did you ever run the 6112s on top setting? I'm unsure on to run 6112s at top, or at 1.9 with shims such as your setup. Besides perceived coil preload, what are the other pros and cons?

Both times I’ve ran this setup I’ve only ran the 1.9 height so I can’t comment on the top setting. From what I’ve read the 1.9 setting tends to ride better.

Good to know. I got the Ok from the wife to get new wheels when I go with the 6112/5160. I am looking at 18x8.5 with a 0,18 and 35mm offset. What wheel should I get to easily fit a falken AT3 295/75?

For comparison- I have 295/70/17 with 0 offset and they rub the flaps in reverse and had to modify the wheel well liners. If you don't want to have to potentially cut and trim I would not go with 0 offset.

6112s/5160s leveled, 1.9, 2nd setting from the top I believe. I love the stance. 275/70

After a year on the Bilstein setup 6112/5160 set @ 1.9" front w/ 0.5" CB shim DS; I keep thinking it's not high enough. But I just like the simplicity of the look and wanna keep it a functional truck.

@Quicksand_Tundra Looks Killer! I ask myself daily- 3/1 35's? I will swap current 33's with 35's when ready and leave at 1.9; gonna be cutting... gonna lose HP... gonna jack shift points up... but gonna be happy. Maybe just run with nannies off. All good.

The struggle is real. Most folks in this thread have spent more time than they care to admit contemplating this very choice. Ultimately I went with (and have loved) the 34” 285/75/17 with lighter than stock wheels. The tire weight of the 35” turned me away…for now. It cost me 9lbs per corner for a much sturdier, beefier, capable tire. Little to no noticeable power loss.

Quicksand looks great. It wasn’t even on my radar and they had one on the lot when I was buying. Stuck with my cement and love it, but really like quicksands with dark windows and tasteful upgrades like yours. Well played.

I'm on the same Bilstein setup and if you went to the top clip on the 6112's, you'll be slightly front-high (assuming your rear is stock). that's how mines ended up before I added the Icon AAL. I like how the 295's look on the 1.9" tho.

Agree. I think the 295’s is the sweet spot for these truck. For sure did not want to go 35”, which I would have to do more modifications to make it fit.
I added Coachbuilder shackles +2 in the rear, giving me 1” lift.

I just finished installing Bilstein 6112 with springs (setting 3, 1.9) and 5100 on my 2007 RCSB 4x4. All measurements were taken from the center of the hub to the lip of the fender.

    Stock measurements were:
Driver front 21.5 inch. Passenger front 21.5 inch
Driver rear 24.25. Passenger rear 24.5

    After Bilstein 6112/511 install:
Driver front 24 inch. Passenger front 24.25 inch
Driver rear 24.25. Passenger rear 24.75
