Was about to purchase my 6112/5160 setup today but now thinking of going with toytec rears because they allow up to 3in rear lift just in case. The 5160 are rated for 1in

Where did you see the rears are good for 3”? Most shocks made to accommodate a lift only have a 1”-2” tolerance at most.

I don't ever plan on goin 3in in the rear but what if my rear lift ends up being 1.5 to 2in then the 5160 may have issues. I don't know

5160 can go up to 2” fine. The extra fluid provides plenty of control for linear compression and rebound

They’re actually 1-1.5”. But the extra 1/2” won’t phase it.

I think I like the Cambergs and the zone offroad ucas, but if I can get the stock ones to align properly, I think I'll stick with stock. If I have to get ucas, I'll throw in a shim and go to the +3 CB shackles. I don't want to go that high though.

I went with 6112's up front set to 1.9" with a .5" CB shim on each side to get me up to that 2.5" number with out to much preload.

Out back did Camburg shackles and 5160's.

Truck rides so much better. I love these shocks.

I'm picking up some sr5 alloy wheels and tires off a brand new tundra at the end of the week. Going to run them until it's time for new tires then I'll go 275/70's and maybe powder coat the wheels.

This site and thread has been great thank you all for you help!

Oddly I found a Killer deal on Camburg UCA and Camburg Shackles I couldn't pass up. Just picked them up tonight. Ended up ordering the Bilstein Combo 6112/5160 tonight as well. Fiancé did it and actually ordered to be preassembled at 2.5 so that what we are going with. Pics for attention.....

Are the tires in the pic 255/70"s? My truck looks similar and was wondering what it would look like if i did the lift before i did tires.

Per Bilstein, 5160 is rated up to 1.5” max lift for Tundra.

Reading this thread, definitely having a hard time deciding whether to go with the top or middle setting, planning to keep the back suspension stock for now. Any insight whether the front will be higher if I go to the 2.5" setting ?

I would just measure your wheel wells from the ground up.

    Mine are exactly 2.5” different.

36 7/8” up front and 39 3/8” in the back stock.

Thanks, yea just a little bit. Need to trim or heat up the mud flaps a little bit to make some clearance but nothing major. Still drivable even with the minor rubbing.

There’s a really good deal on eBay right now for the 6112s. It’s a reputable company selling them and the local store price matched during a no sales tax sale.
