2020 Crew with 6112 set at 1.9, 1 CB shim on passenger and 2 shims on drivers. I had a front end alignment and the 6112 have been on the truck for a month.

The passenger side is .5” higher than the driver side. Should I remove the shim on the passenger side?

I Just got a 2021 Platinum. Based off of this awesome thread I just ordered 6112s at 1.9in and 5160s. Set to be installed in one week. I’m stoked.

I see a lot of talk about shackles and shims. I’ll humbly admit I don’t know the pros and cons of either. After reading all this I’m nervous I’m missing something and don’t want to double pay on labor.

    pros or each?
    Cons of each?
    Cost of doing later?

mall advice matters. I’d have to order anything additional ASAP to be here on time.

priority for me, first and foremost is ride comfort l!!

This is my daily family driver in town and on windy Colorado roads. I’ll also be doing a decent amount of backroads, tow a large pop up a few times a year, and hopefully sneak in some basin 4 wheelin here and there.

    Shackles and/or Shims?

Where did you order your 6112s?? I ordered mine like a month or so ago from Wheelers Off-Road and they're still waiting on the manufacturer.

you probably got the ones I sent back. A month or so ago I knew they were hard to get so I had my local shop grab some and hold onto them while I was debating Kings. Forgot about them until recent and had the shop send them back into the distribution network.

I am scheduled to get 6112s/5160s set to 1.9in installed in 7 days. I will have a topper and randomly tow a 2500lb pop up.

Will I have any bro lean issues without any additional equipment. I haven't purchased any shims or shackles and wasn't planning to.

I would love some feedback. Kinda nervous after reading everyone running CB products.

I think you’ll be fine. You might be a smidge low in the back depending on tongue weight of the trailer and how much stuff you have in the bed but I bet it will basically look level. You can always add the shackles or some airbags later if it sags.

I have the same set up as you. I would leave everything leveled without the shackles :). Easy to throw in later if you decide! This is my truck with the 6112/5160 combo at 1.9 and nothing in the rear

I went with a full kit from boss offroad and have 8K miles or so with no complaints.
    - 6112's up front (top setting) - two shims on the driver side and 1 on the passenger
    - 5160's in the rear with a 1 1/2 shackle
    - bump stops and diff drop - didnt use the included sway bar relo brackets...

Running 285/65/20 Ridge Grapplers on stock wheels

I was tight on clearance to the UCAs so elected to run spidertrax wheel spacers until i go to an 18" wheel with the right offset.

The ride is great and the truck sits 1/2" higher in the back with no load. Installer had no trouble getting the alignment in spec and I'm very happy with the upgrade.

Set with the 6112s at 1.9 are you guys worrying about the diff drop at all? For those of you with the radar cruise control stuff, does it still work correctly after the lift?

No worries with mine. No trouble with sensor. I think most would report the same. Seems like the early TSS issues were more about the sensor issue that needed to fixed than it was about the lift changes.

Oh man. I get 6112/5160s installed Friday. I will be putting a topper on and tow 2500lb camper a dozen times a year. With the topper and stuff in back am I going to sag in the back if I don’t use shims or shackles?

Bluesttape - There are more qualified people than me on this forum....but sagging is not assisted by shackles or shims, rather the leaf springs. The only way to prevent sag is either add supplemental leafs to existing, add a completely new leaf spring built for your load, or go with air bags. That's as I understand it and have experienced.

Did you notice an improvement to ride quality with the 6112's compared to stock with your heavy bumper?

@Bluesttape , I never said that I liked the Ridgeline or that you or most of us here should. The OP said that he wanted a truck with car ride characteristics, so the Ridgeline would work for him. Obviously he is not a truck guy.

What about using 2 & 1 shims with a CB +3 with a topper? I want a lil rake for the sensors, but just enough. Nothing too noticeable.
