I have a friend in Huntington Beach that is selling a Deaver set up - leaf springs with new bushings, shackles, U-bolts etc. He's a fellow dual-sporter as well. Will raise 1" or so and supposedly a much better ride than stock.

If you can’t decide between the two, then i recommend to create a list of requirements. 6112 and Kings are not in the same category of performance - and price.

Finally got the 6112s/5160s put on - I’ve had them since the beginning of June. My Tundra came with a spacer lift and actually sat very slightly nose high, which I really disliked. Installed at 1.3 with 1 DS shim, stock height in the back. I like the stance - wanted a slight rake (have about .5”-.75”) - and the ride is much better:

I drive on the road 99 percent of the time. Just want the best ride street wise and plan on adding an aftermarket bumper. Most offroading i do is the boat ramp...

Should I do the 1.9 with shims or 2.5 and maybe drivers side shim? Much difference in ride?

Bilstein 6112’s on top setting, no shims needed (for this truck), 18 inch Method 315’s (+18 offset), Total Chaos UCA’s, CB +2 shackles in the rear and I didn’t use 5160’s but went with the Icon reservoir rear shocks due to them having more travel. I also have firestone airbags in the rear to support Leitner cargo system and @DECKEDUSA system as well.

Tires are Toyo AT III in 285/75R18. Zero rub anywhere in any direction. I strongly suggest people look at the Cooper AT3 XLT and Toyo AT3 285/75R18 if they are worried about rubbing or trimming. The 12.5 inch wide tire causes too many issues with this setup and the 285/75R18 is the way.

Just ordered 2020 SR5 4x4 crewmax with TRD Sport package which will be here next week on 8/27. I am thinking about upgrade front shocks to 6112 for the 100% on road drive that I am doing. I am not into off-road nor will ever do any kind of trailers towing etc... Tires are stock 275/55R20. What settings to you suggest for me to have installer set for the 6112 shocks for what I want to do (keeping the truck as stock as possible without any kind of modification as I think modification/adjustment can be costly, also voiding warranty as it's a new truck. I am not mechanical capable nor having big pockets. Also not into lifting/jack up the truck) I will keep rear shocks "stock" for now as I think they are made by Bilstein and will eventually change its out to 5160 when they're worned out. Though, if you think I should change rear shocks to 5160 to achieve that nice pleasant car like ride, I will do so as I would prefer to upgrade shocks all at once and call it done.

I picked the sport model for that cool look but all I really want is a nice, comfortable ride - I am not known for being able to tolerate harsh, bumpy ride; I get dizzy very easily. In summary, I just want a basic truck to travel to work and once in a while, put fishing gears on the back to go fishing, camping with family, get a few bags of soils, mulch for the wife's garden, and maybe helping out friends with hauling large household items once in a while. Your help is greatly appreciated.

My advice to you is to drive it for a while with the stock suspension to see how you like it. The 6112's are not going to give you a "car like ride". The best way to describe how the 6112s are better over stock is how they perform on a wash board road when driving at a higher rate of speed. In this scenario they absorb the bumps much better than stock suspension and are more responsive. In most other cases they don't feel much different than the stock TRD Off-road suspension. You may be better off finding someone that has changed out their new Platinum or 1794 suspension for a lift and getting a deal from them on their takeoffs.

How it comes from the factory will be best for on road handling - especially if you don’t want to increase the height up front.

My truck will be with TRD Sport suspension. I tested drove the TRD Off-Road and almost vomit after the test drove. So it's not possible to have a car ride from Tundra? Or at least Lexus GX460 ride like?

The leaf springs in the rear are always going to prevent you from having a car like ride. Best thing you can do is grab some Platinum suspension takeoffs from someone that added a lift, and add a couple hundred pounds of weight in the bed of your truck with sand bags or something.

"grab some Platinum suspension" - are you referring to rear suspension or front. Just suspension or suspension/leaf springs - keeping my stock's Sport shocks Billstein

I have a TRD Sport and I think the ride is great. But it is not a car-like ride. Never will be. Never intended to be. But if you complain about the ride of a stock TRD Sport I think the problem is not with the truck.....just saying.

In all seriousness - If you need a truck for the bed but want a car-like ride, I would suggest canceling the order and get a RAM (with extended warranty, but that's a different story). The RAMs have coil springs in the back and have a much better ride than most other trucks. If you upgrade to Laramie trim you get air suspension that will be closer to the Lexus GX460 ride, although not quite there; still a truck.
Then there is also the Honda Ridgeline option - reliable and comfortable, with a bed, although most on this site don't acknowledge it as a truck. Screw them - it will give you the ride you want.

LOL. When you get older, it's harder on this old body. It will be different 30 years ago for me... Please don't get me wrong - Sport is probably best ride out of all the trims, I just want more....

Great suggestion - though Honda Ridgeline is kind of boring looking, the RAM always have little problems here and there. The Tundra had the look that I am very fond of and the reliability that you can count one . What's the guy to do... Suck it up and just put 200 lbs worth of sand bags on the back ???
