How much weight do you think that is in the rear? Because right now you’re more than likely already sagging a good inch or two from stock, you might need to add 1”shackles to get level even with the 1.3 setting. I have between 500-600lbs constant load, the AAL got it level and I’m still going to add 1” shackles for a slight rake

It's rear high with stock suspension but definitely sagged a bit with the cap and fridge. I'll just have to measure before setting the snap ring. I'm hoping 1.3 will leave some rake.

I forget what the cap is supposed to weigh but I probably have 250-300 lbs in total

Nice. Thankfully the shackles are easy to install after all the other suspension work is done. I’d recommend just getting everything on at 1.3” and then adding shackles after if you need it, which you probably will. I’m surprised at how sensitive the tundra rear end is to weight.

OP here, I started this post after buying my 2017 but traded a couple of weeks ago for a 20. I just placed my order for 6112/5160 set at 1.9"!! I forgot to order a shim for the drive side or possibly two and one for passenger :facepalm:but I've got time as it'll be a little bit before install and I still have to make up my mind on tire size. I had 275/70 Ridge Grapplers on stock OR wheels and stock suspension with the 17. More than likely go that route but contemplating 285/70 (damn they're expensive) or 295/70 with bumper shims and Bora 1.25" spacer we shall see. Thanks for all who have contributed to this thread and those who will in the future. Don't know why it took me this long but I'm pretty excited now.

I looked up the weights, I have closer to 350 lbs all the time in the bed. Maybe a new leaf pack is in order

Didn’t want anything drastic so i went 1.9” in the front and put 5100s on the rear. Next up is tires and rims. Thinking of running 295/60/20 with a +25 offset method NV and hope i don’t need to do anything drastic other than some minor trimming.

Just installed the 6112 at 2.5” with one CB shim drivers side and 5160 in the rear! Tires are 35x12.5x18 Nitto Ridge Grapplers on 18x9 SCS Ray 10s

Where did you take it for an alignment? I made the mistake of taking mine to big box stores and they got it wrong both times. On my third attempt I went to my local 4x4 shop and they got it right. They even fixed a seized cam bolt I had for dirt cheap. Make sure to go to a specialty 4x4 place since they know what the hell they are doing.

Looks awesome. No cab mount chop needed?

    Equin,

No BMC needed. I modified the front mud flaps, pushed the front fender liner forward, and bent the skid plate flange closer to 90 degrees near the sway bar.

    All is good so far!

    body mount without mud flap

    mud flap mod

    1/2” clearance to mud flap

So reading the TRD PRO 295/70R18 thread it seems that tire will fit the Pro which is 2" taller than stock. I've got 6112 at 1.9 being shipped, if I did the 2 driver one passenger shim and 1-1.25" Bora or Spidertrax wheel spacers along with a 0.5" bumper shim would I be able to run this size tire on stock TRD OR wheels with no major trimming or modifications?

Im sure I've already posted it in here somewhere, but here is mine with the 275/70/17 Ridge Grapplers on stock wheels, 1.9. Its the perfect balance of size without loosing too many MPG.

Nice truck, mine is MGM as well and as I mentioned I had 275/70 Ridge Grapplers on my stock 17 and will more than likely go back to that size. I have no plans for the rear besides the 5160's unless I need a little rake for the TSS system then I'll only do a 1" CB shackle.

Judging by your screen name I can only assume you haul a boat as do I, 18'8" Ranger with 175 Yamaha. I also see you are running 1.9" with the CB +2 shackle and 275/70 Ridge Grapplers. I will be running same setup but wasn't planning on doing anything to the rear would you recommend a rear shackle to prevent squat when pulling my boat?

I chose to run the CB +2 shackle to avoid the possibility of being nose high when loaded and towing. I think it came out perfect as I’ve eliminated about 1” of the rake and it looks dead level when towing with the bed loaded.
I tow a 5,000 lb wake boat (we can still be friends ;)) so with a fishing boat you would probably be ok with a CB +1?? Depends on how much rake you want to leave.
Nice thing about the shackle is you can do the front first hook up the load and see what you need, if anything, by taking some measurements.

My boat is definitely not as heavy as yours but I'm really digging your stance. Think I will try nothing out back first then see what happens form there. Thanks!!

Good to know! I’m thinking of going up to 315/70/17s with my Icon Rebounds and was wondering if a BMC is needed. Your experience shows it may not be, but I understand each truck is different.

Really depends on the wheel width and offset. Assuming they are the same as the Six Speed’s than you should be good.

Icon rebound wheels are the same width and offset as the 6 speeds. The only difference is they are hub centric instead of lug centric. (which is like the OEM wheels).

Am I the only one with Bilstein 6112s in the front @1.9, with 275/70/18 BFG K02s that rub in the front?

I haven’t fully checked what exactly the tire is rubbing on, but it sounds like metal.

I think my next upgrade is some 1.25 spacers. 40F6A317-F23F-4AEF-A2F8-0E57695F12C2.jpg6D4C9957-2BEA-4FE1-BEA0-A1E04C9FB378.jpg

You are not alone. I had to trim the stock “skid” plate due to rubbing. Bending it up out of the way is also an option.

It might be 2 things, the front mini mid flap or your sway bar when in full lock position. I run 275/65/20 which is 0.2” smaller than yours. I removed my front mini mud flap and it doesn’t rub when turning the wheel. BUT it rubs the front sway when I turn my steering wheel around 1 5/8 turn which is at full lock.

Once I cleared front fender liner and the mud flap, I heard the metallic rubbing as well. There’s about a 1” flange that sticks out at a 45 degree angle towards the tire. You can either bend or trim. I chose to bend that flange up to about 90 degrees. That was enough to clear at full lock to lock. You can access without removing the tires so very quick and easy mod. You could always trim later if bending doesn’t work.

Yes, I have Icon Rebounds, which should be the same width and offset as the Six-Speeds. But even so, I remember reading on here how similarly equipped Tundras may still experience differences, with one having rubbing issues while another has no rubbing. I’m not sure why that is, though, assuming the claims are accurate.

Same setup with 1.25 spidertraxx. Rub on the front mud flap in reverse.
