6112 Setting and Tire/Wheel Combo Thread.

Yes the snap ring would have to shear, doubtful.

 

Where you get the 6112 with the red coils? Or did you get them powder before install?

 

Also when it comes to threaded vs snap ring, the latter is more reliable, doesn't need to be messed with, and requires less maintenance. There's a reason why everyone is going 6112's over the base model Icons etc.

 

Just had the 6112's installed. Ride is much smoother, love the look.

 

Powder coated springs and spring perches. I drove the truck there so the could match the sway bar color. $100 dollars at my local shop.

 

I see you’re at 3inches total front lift and on 275/70/18. Any trimming or rubbing anywhere?

 

Not at all. I had them on the truck before the lift and they didn’t rub either. Although, I didn’t want to get too crazy with the tire size but they look small on the truck now. I’m going 295/70/r18 this week.

I ordered wheel spacers from Ekstrom design and that might make it look better, I’ll keep you posted.

 

Here she is. 6112’s on the 1.9 clip 5100 in the rear. Nitto Ridge Graps 285/70/18 with a @Coachbuilder1 +1 shackle. Soooooooo much better than stock!

 

Looks really nice. Makes me wish I would've gone with the 285/60/20 on my stock wheels. Any rubbing with your 285's?

 

Oh I like this a lot! How’s the ride compared to before? I’m thinking the same set up on my 2019!

 

The ride is great. Not as soft or spongey. Felt to me like it decreased the body roll a bit too. The fallen tires are also pretty quite for their tread pattern. I would recommend the 6112's up front for sure.

 

Took me nearly 18 months after buying my 2017 CM, but finally finished. Bilstein 6112’s on the 2.5 clip, 5160’s in the rear. Nitto Ridge Graps 295/70/18 with a Coachbuilder +3 shackle. Custom powder coated TRD wheels with matte black. TRD rear sway bar.

They didn’t respond to my email asking if they’ll ever be an option.

 

The shop that installed it said they had to trim the skid a little. Haven’t crawled under there to see what “a little” actually looks like. Haha. Still have the front little mud flaps so I don’t think it’s too bad. I wanted to go 295/70/18 but that would require spacers for factory rims and I didn’t want to do that.

 

Welcome! I decided on the ridge graps before they even had this size. As soon as I saw they started making this size I knew that’s what I was getting. So far, I’m very impressed with them.

 

They’re just so damn expensive...

$1200 for a set before tax really sucks.

 

It’s a shame that size is so much more expensive. It’s one of the reasons I sold my aftermarket 18” tire/rim combo, and got 17s. The 285/75/17s are 0.1” taller and about $400 cheaper per set. I’m curious to know the average weight difference between the two tire/rim combos.

 

FWIW, I got my 285/70/18 RG's for a total of $1172 from SimpleTire. I was very hesitant to use them because I had not heard of them before, and in googling I found some poor reviews along with some good ones. Decided to take a chance and it worked out. No shipping charge and no tax even though they came from about 50 miles away in state.

 

Yes, price tag sucked, but I saved up for them over a while so I was prepared! That’s about the only way I can get away with mods is to have the money on hand when I pull the trigger. That way I can put it on the card, get the points, then immediately pay it off so the wife doesn’t get pissed!!

 

Installed my 6112's @ 1.9" setting. I'm wanting to know if there are specific alignment numbers that I'm looking for?
I'm going to try to get an appointment for tomorrow.

 

There are some ideal alignment numbers. Search the forum for alignment. At the 1.9" setting my LCAs are maxed out in order to get camber down to 0.2.

 

This is one of the best threads, I love Bilstein shocks. Nothing better than a well leveled Tundra. I’m about to pull the 5100s off the rear and go to 5160s and CB +2.

 

Any reason why you're ditching the 5100s?

I've got 6112s and 5100s and feel like they're pretty well matched on the street.

 

To be honest I ordered them at the same time I order the CB +2s, I thought the 5100s might be overextended. I have done some research and found the 5100 would probably be fine but what’s done is done. So to answer your question I’m ditching the 5100s because I jumped the gun, there is not a thing wrong them.

5100 is limited to 0 - 1" rear lift.
5160 is limited to 0 - 1.5" rear lift.

 

If you need more rear look at the toytec rear shocks or the Icons.

 

1.9 on the front, and 5100s with CB+1 on the back.
