Are they even making any trucks with 6.5' beds yet? I've been waiting 14 months now and still have not heard a peep about my truck, dealer never has an update besides "we'll call you as soon as we here anything". Any one see's a Black Platinum with 6.5' bed for sale, I'm interested.

Saw a used 2022 limited crewmax 6.5ft bed at the dealer. The thing is definitely long overall. Looks like a slammed/low rider f250 crewcab in person.

I see 6.5’ bed 3rd Gen Tundras 2:1 compared to 5.5’ at least.

I have one Limited Crew TRD. The box is huge! I was waiting for a 5.5 box but this one came up so I grabbed it. I think the box size is better for carrying things like lumber etc. but it makes the truck really long.

Yes sir, here’s mine. They’ve been making them from the get-go. I test drove a Crewmax 6.5 ft Platinum in January.

I have one same as someone else said was waiting for 5.5 limited and someone backed out of a 1794 OR 6.5 so i jumped at it. It is long tight parking lots are fun but I like the bed for hauling, also a huge fisherman so having that bed for rods is great. I think it looks bad ass lifted too like a real truck lol.

6.5' bed here. Most of the '22s I see driving around have the 6.5' bed but I have to admit that I don't see many platinums in that spec., or at all. I imagine your dealer just isn't getting that spec. allocated to them at the moment and probably doesn’t have much of a say in what they get.

Platinum with 6.5' bed checking in.

I wasn't able to get tow mirrors, but I wanted a plat/1794 with 6.5' bed and rear air. Ordered 11/21, received 9/22

I took delivery of my Double Cab 6.5' Bed back on 12/15/21. But, I rarely see other 6.5' beds locally. I do see a fair amount of 3rd Gen Tundras daily/weekly, but 95% of the trucks I see are CM Short Beds. DC and CMs with the regular bed (6.5') are pretty rare sightings.

The ultimate unicorn would be seeing the 8' long bed. I don't think I've ever seen one IRL yet.

It's almost as rare as seeing a 2 door Jeep nowadays. lol.

My dealer just called last week with a built date for my Platinum MGM with a 6.5’ bed. I could have had 5.5’ sooner…I don’t know why but it seems like Toyota makes more 5.5’ beds. At least in the Platinum trim.

I have a Limited with a 6.5'. I do a lot of dirt biking and liked the extra foot to be able to close the tailgate behind my dirt bike and be able to tow a trailer.

I thought the same thing when I had my Tacoma wantiing a short bed but purchased a long bed. Added a lift and I like the long beds too. Based on my previous experience I purchased a 6.5 bed knowing I'm gonna lift it and a short bed wouldn't have the space needed without the tailgate down. It doesn't bother me not lifted, it still looks good. I just think the lift makes it look more in proportion to the length of the truck.

Well yeah, they're for all the people who want a truck and have no use for one. Amenities!!!!

5.5 box in a half ton or more, 90% of the time means just that. Want a truck but a Camry will do.

I have a 6.5' bed since June, I had to call around to different dealers and got on 3 different dealers wait list and in 3 weeks I got this. If you are really particular about color and model it could be a challenge which is why you should hit up multiple dealers and see what they have. I promise you your local dealer isn't out scouring the other dealers for your particular truck, you need to do it yourself.

Ordered my SR5 OR CM 6.5 the first week of December 2021. I picked the truck up July 25th/22. It was worth the wait. I love the truck.

The 6.5' bed is somewhat of a unicorn. I had to drive to a dealership 6 hours away to get mine. I guess the majority of people buying trucks don't use it as a true utilitarian vehicle. for me the short bed is completely useless.

Sadly for previous generation you could only get a short bed with a crew cab. Not so anymore, thankfully. That said, I can't personally see needing more space for people than the 2014-2021 double cab offered, unless you happen to live in Norway and need to move 5 Bjor Bjornssons cross country. Guess it's a comfort vs utility thing.

Crew+short is really popular here in the new port richey area. Where I grew up in SE PA, near farmland, seeing a crew cab half ton with a 5 foot bed is significantly less common.

I flew to Chicago and drove back 700 miles for my 6.5’! I had been waiting for over 9 months. One reason it was such a unicorn is I wanted the TRD OR package crewmax with every available limited package. It also came with a ton of dealer installed options. So happy I found her. 6.5’ is the way!

So I put a deposit down on Black 1794 w/6.5' bed that I found at Williams Toyota in Binghamton, NY on Nov.12th, it was scheduled to be shipped end of Nov.. Truck came in yesterday, been calling every couple days to check. Talked to sales person today and they won't sell me the Truck because i'm out of state. They knew that when they took the deposit and backed out. The search begins AGAIN.
