Hey guys, living in Wisconsin I use 4wd often, year round as needed and a few weeks ago I've noticed a popping noise under load in 4wd, as in pop pop pop, etc, but not under light load (front left is best guess). I swap my coilovers often so winter isnt so harsh on them (king 2.5) and currently have 5100's middle setting so I can keep my bigger tires on. Also I've popped the axle out a few times during this process but never had to force it back in, just turn untill it easily goes back in. Mentioning this so it's complete info as best I can.

Truck is a 2017 limited crewmax 4x4 with 31k miles. Is this most likely the axle itself? No tears in the rubber boot or leaking...and it doesnt appear strained on the joint at all...

It is under warranty but I hate to put it stock to run it in, but I may have too

    Thanks for any insight

Does it pop when driving on slick or dry pavement?

If slick/icy, then sounds like an issue.

If dry pavement, it's from the driveline binding.

I don’t run it on dry, just slick. Thanks for the feedback! Just nice to hear second opinions
