Do a search on here...there's plenty of debate.
In short, the stock system is essentially a CAI. There certainly are some others (S&B, K&N, aFe, etc.) that provide more available air and better cooling "potentially".
That said, considering the engine is a big air pump; without an aftermarket exhaust (to increase scavenging) and a tune, the MAF and ECU is going to control your afr. So long as you have a clean filter, your engine's going to get the air it needs. Also, without the coolant bypass mod (for your Throttle body), any "cold" air from a CAI is at minimum, negated.

I know this sounds really really stupid, but on parts.toyota.com, I go to the dealer search and enter my zip code. It is showing the list of all the dealers and it has their phone number listed in a red oval box. I click on it and it wants to call them obviously, but there is no where to actually "select" the dealer?

As crazy as it sounds, what am I missing how do o select a dealer?

 

The red ovals say 'Shop Now' for me. It takes me to the dealer's specific online shop.

 

same exact thing. I want to pick up the TRD skid plate but cant select a local dealer to pick it up from. This feels like a marketing ploy.

Read the fine print of the "terms and conditions" here...specifically the part about the 'flags'. My guess, until it's live no one knows for sure. seems like of the dealers that have been contacted, either they don't know about it, or they're not participating.

Only the ones participating says 'Select this dealer'. If it has a phone number, they are not participating.

This is only when 'View More Dealers' is selected on the main page. The main page will show the 3 closest participating dealers. This was the same when they ran a sale in Feb.

 

Okay got you, you are right. If i scroll down I eventually get to a dealer that is 130 miles away. They actually have the 19 TRP Pro rims for $540 a piece. I am praying like hell they will actually be 40% off haha. That would make them $324 a piece.

Something tells me these will be listed at MSRP tomorrow for $811.40 then 40% off that......

 

I'm not seeing the discount at checkout, but might need to wait until tomorrow. Looks like the selected dealers are not too close to me either. If I drive about 2 hrs away I can get the TRD Exhaust and TRD Intake. Total is $1575 and if they are 40% off it would it would come to $945 + tax or $1,026.27 out the door. Thinking about pulling the trigger on that deal. Anyone think it's not worth it?

Yes, that is a good price. Shipping is what kills the exhaust prices. I just got in on the Dirty Deeds group buy but was looking at the TRD exhaust. About $1,050 was the cheapest I could find it but shipping is like $150 from everywhere.

Sounds to me that it would be worth a drive to go pick up the intake and exhaust....

 

All of mine are at least 120 miles away. They offered free shipping in Feb which was nice. I think shipping is going to kill this deal for me. Some of the shipping prices were outrageous and I wouldn't have bought anything if it wasn't free to ship. My brother lives near one and I could get him to pick it up though.

 

I was browsing the closest dealer and was looking at this tonneau cover. For $5.45 matbe worth a gamble, haha?

 

Weird....I just selected another dealership and they show the same products I listed above (TRD Exhaust and Intake), but they already show the discount online.

 

Okay, did the sale stat early and a mess up on peoples sites because in the last 2 minutes prices became rediculously low.....

I'm tempted to complete the checkout now....before they run out. Does anyone know how to tell if the dealer actually has these items in stock? I'd like to know before I order, but it's already too late to give them a call.

 

Those have been discontinued. I have two sets and I need to replace a center cap which I cannot find because it is discontinued

 

I just purchased the TRD exhaust and it is for sure both pieces with the black chrome tips for $692.40 and it let me check out.... I choose Saturday pickup! I might keep it or sell it locally to a buddy of mine as I am rolling with the 8" Dirty Deeds.

My card was just charged that amount so I think iti s on like Donkey Kong. I am about to find the skid plate and see what is up with that.

Have no idea if it is in stock or not.....

Edit.... Completely messed up on this one, was just about to hi order and realized I only had 2 rims selected instead of 4 like a dumbass. They are $486 a piece. Completely my bad on this one.

 

Is it just the two part numbers needed? No additional gaskets or anything?
