Call me old fashioned but I would call them

 

i placed two orders with butte. one was shipped which was the air filter.. the other one which i really want is the shift knob and the brake pads no word

 

I checked in with Butte, of my four items they are still waiting on one of them (skidplate). They won't split orders up and will hold items until the entire order is complete before shipping.

 

I just finished installing the trd exhaust. Is there a break in period for it. There is a burning smell coming out of it but no smoke. None of the lines are touching the pipes.

 

Yes, that is normal. Just the chemicals burning off the metal. It will be gone in a few days.

 

Same here, 2 orders and got notification filter was shipped. Wonder if they put the other parts in 2nd order in same shippment. Gets delivered tomorrow.

 

Like others have said, and I’m trusting on them, normal. Did mine yesterday. Thanks for asking thought, it would have driven me crazy!!! OCD kicks in quick!!!






But I do hear a “whistle”, anyone else hear it?

 

Same smell coming off mine as well, seems normal.

 

Mine has the whistle. I like it.

 

I picked up a different exhaust hangar from Oreilly's last night. I think it will lower my drivers side tailpipe down to be level with the passenger side. Only about $5. Looks something like the below picture (maybe an inch more between the holes compared to the one provided in the TRD kit). Won't be able to try it out until next weekend due to work, but I'll let you guys know if it works.

 

I'm loving the trd exhaust and intake system so far. I love the low rumble during idle. It's not much louder than the stock. I took it for a quick drive and it's tamed during coasting and roars when I gas it. There is little to no drone in the cab. I drove it on the freeway at various speeds and it was quiet inside the cab.
When I picked up my kids from daycare my son kept telling me to slow down when I gassed it just a bit.

 

Still nothing on my order from Butte. Guess I gotta call them now, blah.

 

Try driving it with the Beast Mode on. You'll find yourself feeling like a teenager again.

 

I emailed Butte immediately after I ordered that day to cancel.

I sent three emails to confirm, and two phone calls.

Last Friday I finally got ahold of Hannah and she knew nothing about it and cancelled it on the phone. The website shows cancelled. However, I have yet to see anything refunded on my card.

 

I also lowered the spare tire to give myself more room on the install...did you notice that there were indentations in the side wall of the spare tire from it being torqued down too tight and sitting up against the metal holder? I wish I took a pic of the tire while i had it down...

 

Just spoke with Butte and they are still expecting the rear sways to come in at the end of the week. Said to sit tight as they are bringing in parts from all over the country.

 

I just spoke to them as well and are waiting to get in more of the Front sway bar and the air accelerator. She said they are hoping to have them by the 18th. So just FYI for anyone else still waiting.

 

Normal. Some guys put pool noodle on the frame to pad the tire.

 

Yup, I had the same markings on my tires sidewalls. I've never lowered the spare before and it was definitely cranked on there good from the factory.

 

You could also do the bed bounce fix where you sandwich a sheet of high density foam between the wheel and frame to act as a damper to the bed. Basically the tire is able to move against the spring a bit and change the shock frequency. There’s a thread about it. I have the foam but looking for the time under the truck.

 

Sorry for those who are still waiting for shipping dates. Here's a joke..got my order with no shipping notice 3 days after order. Today I get an email that says the order is on its way and status updates too. But I already got the order last week! Lol

 

Still waiting on my order status to change from "received"...Toyota of Decatur AL.
Guess I will have to call.

 

I finally gave in and called Toyota of Mobile. They are still backordered and waiting for 185 rear sway bars to come in which they have no date for. The parts manager said they sold more TRD stuff online that day than they ever have all added together. This was due to a lot of southern dealerships not doing the TRD sale that a lot of customers ordered online from the next closest dealer which for us in Texas would have been the Alabama dealerships.

 

Lol....the sway continues!

FSB +5 Handling


Radiator Cap +5 Power


Oil Cap +5 Power


I also did the airflow accelerator and the black shift knob.
Big shout out to @nk1794 for posting the youtube video for how to install the FSB and included torque specs!

 

Anyone that orderes a Shift Knob only from Butte get theirs yet?

 

Nope.

 

Butte told me they are waiting for shift knobs before shipping out the rest of my order.

 

Nope. I ordered a shift knob and the air filter cleaning kit. Haven’t heard anything.
