I got 16.7 MPG on the way to Florida Saturday. I like to believe my pawpaw cap helps my mileage.

Good looking truck. I would rather have a cap like that, but opted for a locking roll up tonneau cover. Like the look of the cap but the practicality of toting large items is a plus. I'm sure those caps come in handy for camping if you wanted to sleep in the bed.

2001 stock gen 1, 2WD. I usually see around 15's mixed driving, sometimes a bit higher with more highway. My last tank was 90% highway, 65 mpg, cruise controlled. I calculated 18.2 mpg, a personal best. I rechecked the calculations to be sure.

My last tank i was able to get about 16, had to make sure i could still go 300 miles, ended up going 320 on 20 gallons without getting the fuel light. Really uncomfortable running it under the 1/4 tank mark. I prefer to fill up closer to 1/2 tank, to keep the pump happy.

Nice truck, and welcome to the forum! Curious, what brand/model of cap is that?

Thanks. All I know is it says Vista on the back window.

The cap came with the truck. I think Toyota had a deal. When we moved to Texas for a short while there were two identical trucks in our small town. Same color as ours. Got confusing a couple of times in the H-E-B parking lot.

2006 DC running 33" tires, I have averaged 12.6 mpg with the best tank at 17.6 mpg. That's over the last 4 years or so.

I use fuelly.com. I can text at each fill-up and get the last tank and historical average sent back to me in seconds. Go here <https://www.fuelly.com/car/toyota/tundra/> and you can browse for your year and see what other folks are getting for MPG.

2006 4.7, DC, 31.5 tires (265-75-16), averaging 19-20 mpg over the last couple of months. Mostly rolling and curvey 2-lane/45-55 mph roads to and from work. Highway driving at 65 clicks gives me over 20.

I try to use a light right foot, and CC when traffic is light, which is usually the case during my commute time (early morning/mid-afternoon).
If I had that engine in something smaller and more nimble, however, the milage would be in the low teens because I’d be digging into the revs every chance I had, lol.

I've hauled a trailer with every tank I've run through the truck in the last few months. My gas mileage right now is so bad I'm not even calculating it. From full to quarter tank is about 200 miles.

The good thing is that when I'm pulling a trailer there's something fun on it so I try to think more in smiles per gallon.

Just took a trip from Tn to Co and back Odometer reading 2501 miles 156.3 gallons of fuel 16.0 MPG. When adjusted for tire size 2624 miles 156.3 gallons of fuel 16.79 MPG. 2006 DC 2WD

157000 on the truck. Changed diff fluid, diy transmission flush, flushed the power steering, flushed brake fluid. Put in new denso radiator, denso fan clutch, belt and idlers before trip. timing belt has about 20k.

    Truck ran perfect

No....but its a 3.5K trailer, and fully loaded you can't see any flex on the springs.....so its not heavy.....I think its mostly air resistance.
