I am looking to try and get the most power from the 4.6. What are some great options to get the most hp i can out of the truck.

Depends on if you're interested in forced induction or not. But, I'm assuming no? haha If you are, well it gets expensive real fast.

There's not a lot out for the 4.6 but you can slap on some headers which would absolutely help. I don't believe the Bullydog products support the 4.6 platform, just the 5.7 but @dirtydeeds is the place to ask. I know they carry only the best, and I know i've seen some dudes using the JBA Shorty Headers from there for a little more low end pep.

There is a tune out there for our crappy 4.6 but I dont remember what it is. Definitely not something bully dog offers though.

stick to P rated tires, keep it stock, and throw out anything (including seats) that you don't use for less weight. :D:D:D

    Lol!

After looking at your profile pic, I wonder if a regear wouldn't help. That's a big lift / tire combo for the 4.6.

Actually, it serves me well. I'm only running 33's (they're AT's)
I MAY need a regear if I jump to 34's but many people say it shouldn't be an issue with AT's. Now MT's would be a different story.

Towed about 6k without any problems for a good 6-7 hours straight. Barely knew it was back there.

After I got them, I barely felt a difference in pickup power and back end torque, same with shift points and my speedometer is spot on. Albeit a 1mpg drop, it's performed perfectly well.

    Oh hell, I wouldn't even think about 37's without a regear on a 5.7 much less a 4.6! LOL

All good. I was thinking huh.....guess my truck looks higher than I think it does. *self five*
You just killed that self five. Dammit.

Yes, bullet proof lift on a 4.6. Was for appearance purposes but I'm using my truck like a truck and a huge lift really lags on the performance. Truck is just about paid off so I'll soon have me money to throw into the truck. Interesting i never thought of the coolant bypass but i would most definitely need a larger radiator for the electric fans. What is the sabm? Gears are actually coming within the next couple month.

Probably the cheapest option - $ for Hp.

Regearing is a slam-dunk for improvement IMHO

Remove the throttle body from a coolant loop. Unless you live where it's cold why heat up your throttle body to 200*???

Is there a link on a DIY to this? I would love to try it out and see what happens.

I always found shorty headers to do a good job. With a proper tune even better. But shorty headers typically do not require a tune.
