4.5" bds lift with 17s?

does any body know if I can run my wheels with the lift.
They are method 309r 17x8.5 +0 4.75 backspacing.
Lift is a non coilover bds 4.5".
One shop said they wont fit because of the backspacing. They looked at the website and the wheel recommendations on bds.
Another shop says they will work, and I've read multiple threads where one person says they will fit. Another says they wont. I've seen them work but on a 3" coilover lift. One person says the spindles might move the caliper which can cause clearance issues.
