Hi! I just got my lift installed and thought I’d share some info for those interested. After much back and forth I decided on the Dobinson’s IMS kit. The deciding factors were reputation, price, option for springs (color, size, and weights), and most of all customer service. The US distribution team has been awesome in answering all the questions I had. Probably some of the best and fastest correspondence you can ask for.

I went with the 2” front and 1” rear springs in 0-110lbs (10% stiffer than stock). I have yet to take it off-road but on-road it’s damn near close to stock. The added stiffness makes a discernible difference in body roll and sway support. On the freeway it really soaks up any potholes and whoops. At very slow speeds hitting square edge bumps is a little jarring but I attribute that to the E rated Toyo OC RT Trails. As far as regular driving speeds in the city (30-50mph) it’s been comfortable and this is where it feels most like stock.

Overall I’m stoked with the setup!

I paired up the suspension with the following wheel setup:

    Method 318 17x8.5 +25 offset
Toyo Open Country RT Trail 35x12.5R17

    Thanks for sharing…looks really good.

Any reason why you went with the Icon arms rather than the Dobs?

Honestly the main driving factor was price. I got a solid deal on them. Also, the fact that the delta joints are fully sealed, plus the increased angularity.

Also we're still some months away from the Dobinsons billet adjustable UCA's coming into stock.

I am looking for some input on my rear spring choice.
I am putting my order in for the Dobinson 2"/1" IMS. I am going with the 0-110lbs springs in the front. I have no intention to install a bumper or winch.
I am not sure what to install in the rear... 0-110lbs or 220-440lbs. I have a cap and bedslide installed on the truck. Secondly, do you think I will need after market UCA's?

    Thanks in advance,

Just add up the weight of the cap and bedside and that will give you the weight range you need to choose for the springs to give the lift height you want

As noted above, get the weight (plus weight you carry in the truck at all times) and then call dobinsons- they are super helpful with this stuff.

The 835V are 200lbs/inch spring rate and the 837V are 228lbs/inch. Got that info directly from dobinson. I wound up going with the 837.

Is there a front coil spring lift available? I lifted my 2017 4runner with toytec 3” front coil springs and 5100s. This worked like a dream for me. I’m just looking to level the front.

would you know if I could run a dobinsons 2in spring and 5100s? Looking to do something better than just a spacer. I ran toytec 2in coil spring and 5100s on my 17 4runner. Best suspension I’ve ever had.

I'm going to be going in to Eibach for their prototype testing for their Pro Truck kit with HD springs to support my static weight - bed rack/RTT. Should be dropping off truck within the next week or so. I'll report back.

I went 2” in the rear, but they are currently backordered, so I haven’t gotten to install that with the Panhard bar yet. I’m sitting on the stock spring with Westcott space still and the rear is sitting an inch lower than the front. I will definitely update pics and a post once it’s 100% done.

I’m not one to experiment with mismatched parts. I wouldn’t personally run a 5100 ever again after going back and forth, but that’s just due to the way I drive.

Looks really clean! No rub on the tires? Assuming you had to do some minor pining/trimming?

That does look awesome. That wheel and tire combo also looks sick, heaps of sidewall. I love it.

Thanks! Minor rubbing at full lock, because of the -10 offset. Ordered the Westcott bracket that replaces the body mount for more clearance so I won’t have to cut. Will see how it goes. Other than that it rides great.

I got my lift done from my buddy that dose private work took him about 6 hours and 1 hour at toyota for alignment, here’s what got done with pictures to follow.
    -OME 2866 rear springs
    -Dobinsons IMS rear shocks
    -YM rear extended break lines
    -Icon bump stops front/rear
    -TRD lift UCA
-Elka 2.0 with 2”-3” lift front shocks set to 2.75” above stock height. They come with Eibach springs and I got the heavy ones because of availability, I will not use a steel bumper/winch.
I did have a 2” block in the front to level it and with stock OR 265/70/18 wheels from the ground to bottom of fender was 39” all 4 sides, now it sits 40.75” front and 41” rear with just the tonneau on and 295/70/18 tires. I still have mud flaps and it rubs slightly at full lock drivers side, it’s fine. Total coast of the lift was $4882 Canadian

Does anyone have the compressed and extended lengths of the TRD Pro rear shocks?

Installed this weekend. 2" lift up front with Kings (1-3/4 more turns / preload on top what came from King) and 1" at the rear with Dobinson C59-835V model-specific springs. Still have a tiny rake, which I prefer to allow for load. Before and after photos are below.

I had the TRD UCA's, but ended up not installing them as the stock UCAs had more than enough clearance and aligned fine*** (not really, see below). The droop on these Tundras is not limited by the UCA; it is limited by the giant sway bar.

EDIT: since my original install, I have to make addend the above statement.

the original UCA was articulating fine, and was clearing the resi hose for the King. However, it was rubbing and scruffily the hose at full droop.

I ended up swapping the UCAs to the TRD UCAs. Problem solved. These cost me $350 for the pair. I couldn’t justify a reason to go for aftermarket expensive options. This thing works.

Got my Dobinson’s IMS kit on today. 2 inch in the front with 1 in the rear. Rides significantly better than my Westcott kit. Close to stock. Took some poor quality photos for y’all. Was around $2400 for the kit plus install. 57C209EE-EA6D-4C09-A7B7-42903937197F.jpg 1E69DBEA-1A7E-4FF4-863B-78DC65482FFF.jpg 37E82061-12A3-4D99-8CA9-528C9D0984E5.jpg

If you plan on getting it installed at a shop, maybe try finding a shop that makes orders with Dobinsons and have them place the order for you. I had my shop place the order for me and it ended up being 5% off with free shipping because they just shipped it out with the rest of their Dobinsons stuff they’d ordered

Got my truck back from Eibach testing their prototype Pro-Truck (Stage 1) lift kit. The kit will be released in a few months, but this is going to be a nice kit for those not wanting to spend too much on a kit. I'll be taking more photos of the setup later and posting photos on my IG @trailhunters.
