No problem. You’ll obviously need longer bolts with that.

Yeah. They're M8-1.25 bolts. I bought a set of longer bolts when I stacked my skid plate on top of my cat shield. I was worried the # of threads holding the plates wouldn't be enough with the stock length. I'll buy another set about 3/4" longer to accommodate nylon spacers.

Just a few pics on the Tundra post-install of the ICON Stage 6 + 2.5" Dobinsons rear springs. The front lift is 6.75" from the top of the tire to the bottom edge of the front fender and the rear is 8.25"...so there's a 1.5" difference. This works out great for me since a bed rack and a tonneau cover will be going on the bed. Still lots to do.

The tire and wheel combo is 20X9 0-offset ICON Rebound and Venom Power Trail Hunter R/T 37X12.50R20. I'll be switching to a 17X8.5 0-offset ICON Rebound Pro and Venom Power Swampthing A/T 37X13.50R17 once the tires become available.

Platinum with TRD lift. Pro wheels. 35x12.5 KO2s. Lift runs smoother than the Westcott by a mile. Little rub on full lock. Digging it. $2400ish lift before tax. $1600 install after tax. Currently back at the dealer getting a noice and clunk evaluated. Install issues likely. Ran it for a day before the hiccup and really like it. Fingers crossed they make it right and back on the road soon. Love the truck.

Sorry if I sound like an idiot, won’t be the last time for sure but I’m confused and not hard to do to me. So is your lift the stage 6–3.5” lift kit from ICON? You mentioned 6” front and 8” back but sounds like that’s just measurements from the tires to fenders. I had called them a few weeks ago trying to find a 8” lift and they told me they only had 3.5” lifts for now for the 22 Tundras and they were not certain they will go any higher. So either they changed their minds or like I said I’m an idiot and misunderstood your post. Btw, truck looks fricking awesome!!

Exactly what I said...it's the distance from "the top of the tire to the bottom edge of the fender." The reason why I mentioned that measurement so others will have an idea of the amount of rake to expect when they use a Dobinsons LC80 2.5" rear coil spring lift. Another measurement that might help people is the distance from the center of the wheel to the bottom edge of the fender (24.5" front and 26" rear).

    Yes, it's a Stage 6 (3.5" lift) ICON.

Why would you want to put an 8" lift on a Tundra? You plan to put 42" tires on it?

no, 40’s. Not joking. It’s all about choice. Others can laugh or look at it funny, but if the owner likes it what’s the issue? I love the appearance of a higher/lifted truck and currently 6” is not enough for me. See my longer post in “3rd generation accessory thread”. To each his own. Still waiting/searching for the 8”r. :)

The tallest kit available at the moment is a Rough Country 6" lift and I think they're only designed for a 37" tire. You'll probably have to get a custom kit made from Kelderman, AnyLevel, or Bulletproof.

Trust me I know. I have contacted just about everyone in the lift business personally (icon, skyjackers, westcott, bds, etc etc) and no one has even a 6” other than RC and most say they are year(s) away from 6” or 8”. So got the cheaper 6” RC for now and honestly ride is pretty damn good for spacer kit and not true suspension lift. Again, I go into way more detail in other thread. I now got your clarification and good to go now. Your set up is definitely a better product than mine, but again I wanted higher so kind of stuck in a void for now until these companies get Thru their R&D for higher lifts. BDS said they may have a 7” by the end of this year or beginning of next so then will have to decide to get it or wait longer for the 8” someone will eventually build. That’s what’s so great about trucks, customizations, this forum, so many different opinions/choices/preferences/likes/dislikes it’s a beautiful thang!!

Man keep striking out. Contacted Anylevel and Kelderman (thanks btw as they were not even in my wheelhouse for looking) this morning and neither do any lifts for the 22 Tundras. Bulletproof is in Cali so 2 hours behind me will call them later today. You would think Toyota brand would also get some love from these companies. Hopefully someone will show some love for us 22 Tundra truck owners that want to be high(lift wise you knuckleheads!)…:fingerscrossed:

I have a 6” now and no issues at all! I love it, but want few more inches. I have a buddy with Ford with 8” lift and same, smooth rides. Always some trades offs and I go into that in another thread. Don’t know why so many look down on higher lifts. You don’t want one or want only level kit or 3” lift, do what you want to your truck. I have no issues with what others do to their trucks. It’s your truck and your money. Others like me just prefer to sit higher and like the sight of the higher trucks. Doesn’t even need to be utilized like heavy off roading, if you like something do it. Always say, to each his own…..

I look at "high lifts" (I personally consider anything over 3.5" or 4" to be "high") in the same way as I look at lowering kits. Not my cup of tea, but I agree with your statement: It's your truck and your money.

I think it's just different strokes for different folks. Granted, there are exceptions but I think the stigma lays with the majority of folks running a 6" or an 8" lift are Brodozers who think of lifting trucks like an arms race. Their goal isn't capability, it's 100% about looks & bragging rights to say they have the highest lift in their social circle. Outside of mudding, you don't really see many 6" or 8" lifts going "off road." The ground clearance gain from a 3.5" lift to a 6" or 8" lift is usually pretty negligible because of having to drop the diff/transfer case, and other components. Unless you plan on running 40" tires, you don't gain much in the way of off road capability. Also, you're putting your center of gravity higher in the air which can make the truck unstable on many trails.

I'm not necessarily poo poo'ing high lifts. Again...your truck, your money. Just explaining the reasoning behind the POV from most off roaders.

This is why I love this place, people with different preferences/opinions can talk on each side and try to see the other side. Man I forgot all about the low riders!! I never got into those personally, but again I don’t hate on them or any type of customization someone does to their own vehicles. Your post quoted above seems to show the bias some off roaders have towards the higher vehicles. To me alone, it doesn’t matter if an 8” doesn’t offer anything positive for off roading or you should only have it if you’re gonna run 40’s, which I probably will eventually once I have the 8” lift, none of that matters to me. I am not a huge off roader anymore, used to be huge into it. I just like the look of higher trucks and driving higher to me feels better, that’s it! Yes some do go overboard and have 10-12” lifts, but again When I see them i don’t hate or laugh at them just too high for me personally. To me it doesn’t matter if someone has a “Brodozer” club and want to be the highest. They are spending their hard earned money to go higher so why does it matter to anyone else? Probably won’t change anyones mind, just trying to explain my side. Of course the way the world is now never all going to agree on everything, but would be nice if less animosity between regular no lift/mid lift/high lifts truck owners. You may not see it, but from my side I do and I know it’s not people trying to be rude, but until you hear from the other side you won’t know why they do it. For me it’s just choice on looks and driving higher and shouldn’t need to explain any further. I will post couple pics of my 22 Tundra now with the 6” lift and 37” tires (eventually will be 8” and maybe 40’s) as well as my 1969 Bronco to show that someone can have different opinions on different vehicles. My Bronco, to me, looks better stock height or with a 2.5-3” lift like mine does. On my Tundra I just think the 8” will look better. All my own opinions/choices. Believe it or not, I am thinking of doubling up my Tundra notes and paying off in 2 years then buying a 2024 TRD PRO in solar octane and leaving it completely stock and using it for my daily driver. I also have another vehicle, but that’s another story/forum:)

I love the matte wrap. I've thought about doing a wrap one day. Gotta get through a bunch of other stuff first, but one day I might have it done.

I have a buddy locally that does tint and wraps and I’m telling you man I’ve visited with him couple times chatting while he is working and when he is done with a wrap looks just like the car is painted. Just got to find a good shop that knows the craft and of course have the money as it ain’t cheap for a whole car/truck wrap. :spending:

I'll be doing a satin black wrap like that soon. Should look sweet.

I have the truck in the shop now getting this installed. They forgot my brake line hoses.

Did you run into the ebrake line seeming a little tight? Also how did the front look to you. My tech says he thinks I need a front diff drop and sway bar relocation in the front.
