My RC mat shipped today! I plan to spray it with some peppermint oil, then wash and scrub with dawn. Will update on the results.

I recently purchase a utility mat at peavey mart for 140$cdn on sale. 1/4 inch thick 5x8 and trimmed to size on my bed and it works amazing.I used the extra cut off piece and screwed it down into the fail gate Aswell with the bolts already there, so the full bed is covered and protected.20241020_173938.jpg

Just bought the Toyota OEM Bed Mat new part # PT90C-34220-02 from one of the dealers near me negotiated the price to $170. it has small bumps on the underside to keep it in place and the mat is super sticky. Apparently, even the parts guy didn't know the Tundra mats were available under the new part number.
Read that the Rough Country didn't have the small bumps to help keep the mat from sliding so opted to pay $70 more for the real deal.

Just a note on the $99 RC mat referencing the above post:
Correct in that it has no anti-slip nubs on the underside, but it is considerably thicker and heavier than the OE mat.
No slippage of the mat, or whatever I've put on it, whatsoever.
The only downside that I see is the huge Rough Country branding they thought was necessary. Functionally, it works great.

Agreed, nipples not required on the heavy ass RC matt.

If you’re in the PNW, Les Schwabs carries black armor. The thing is an 1” thick beast.

I went with a bed rug. Bed is used for hauling things, not dirt, once a year mulch. I find the texture works well in that items do not easily slide yet stuff can be pushed around. It cleans easily. Held in by two velcro strips, it's easily removed.
If you use your truck for traditional truck chores, go with the rubber mat.
I purchased my truck for tow capacity and travel, bed rug works perfect.
