Dont understand why Toyota didnt put in a access port in the skid plate to get to the oil filter.
Taking it off each time for an oil change looks to be a pain in the ...

In the aftermarket world, RCI makes their with that access door.

For those wondering there are six bolts on the Toyota skidplate. Leave the two front bolts on (in loosen stage), guide the plate over two front bolts, there are tabs in the back to hold the plate in place so you are hands free to reinstall the remaining four bolts before tightening down all six. Thankfully there is no juggling plate in one hand while installing bolts with the other, pretty effortless.

@ryanwgregg What do you think is better, the JB4 or the TruControl? Or is it really up to the user preference?

i can tell you that just by looking at the app, they dont provide the features the JB4 app provides. No PIDs, no code scanning/clearing, no on the fly tuning capabilities like the JB4 has. Dont even see the ability to datalog like the JB4 has. Looks like its a new product line from stillen all together.

So do we think they are doing boost manipulation [not fuel map manipulation] like JB4?

Definitely, they tap into the map sensors as well, nothing else...thats boost manipulation only. Id be curious to see their boost levels per map...video didnt go into detail and the product site is pretty bare bones. I think I'd go with the VR over this one just based on the product description (or lack of) and being that its a new line for stillen. VR has been in this longer, but doesnt beat out BMS. I know I probably sound like a salesperson but the JB4 features are far superior than VR and Stillen.

Ha I know you've been accused! At this point the JB4 has more user data behind it. Thanks for analysis.

They seem to be only using the non-hybrid for testing and numbers. Wonder if it will work on a Hybrid or if they will make one Hybrid specific.

Any cover pieces for the back seat storage compartment? I’ll be hauling things with the back seats in the up position and I’d like a flat surface there. (Crew Max) ‘23

I made a simple jig with a couple pieces of plywood to use your floor jack to move and lift skid plates. I made the top big piece 24x28. You can't go much wider than 28" otherwise you hit the A arms on the suspension. I used 1/4" thick on the bottom piece. You can go thicker but it may hit the jack when you lower it. Overall it works well. If you have the TRD skid plate you will have to remove it for every oil change. This is much easier and it won't get scratched up moving it.

I also got these locking lug nuts. I went with the OEM from a Toyota dealer on eBay. I wasn't able to find an aftermarket that had the built-in captive washer. This seems unique to Toyota.

Anyone been able to find TRD pro suspension set? Not the TRD lift kit but the TRD pro.

still looking at this $6k reduced 1794 but don’t want a lift, but rather have the TRD pro suspension

That would be a nice upgrade! I have that on my list of possible suspensions.

If its stiffer than stock it will increase oversteer, if softer then it will decrease.

Kaspen cup holder for 26oz Yeti bottle. Can be found here...
    https://www.etsy.com/listing/143088...allery-1-1&frs=1&sts=1&organic_search_click=1

It lists Hydroflask as the mfr for the stock item but you can request a specific size like I did. The 26oz yeti rambler has a 3-1/4 diameter and they 'custom' made it. Just let them know which one you have. I lined the inside and outside with some left over grip and suede tape to prevent any rattles.

Just minor stuff. For example, Undercover bed cover, Tufskinz custom door sill protectors, and TRD air filters.

I do use the tray and will do so more with the flip cover for the rear tray. However, I’d like the best of both worlds where I could attach a cushion (perhaps a couple of pieces of Velcro) on top. Then I have hidden trays.
