Random input here, but just took delivery of my Limited TRD. I had purchased Weather Tech floor liners in advance of taking delivery. Turns out, the truck came with the oem heavy duty rubber mats! They seem to be of good quality and I'll be returning the WT's. Not because they're not good, just why spend the money. I asked my salesman, (not the sharpest) if the oem floor mats came with the truck, as I hadn't heard that it was a standard option. He gave me some lame, "we aim to please" answer, so I can't be sure if its a stock feature or the dealer put them in and gave me an upcharge.

Check your window sticker. They're usually a part of some package, or they may be itemized by themselves. It all depends on what checkmark box the dealership ticked when they ordered the truck.

Called my dealer about getting the TRD skid plate. They say $75 to install and that charge will apply every time i get an oil change due to no opening for the filter.

seems odd but is that what people are seeing when getting service?

No. Part of the oil change procedure is to remove the cover that’s already there. There are no opening to filter even with stock covers. Had to remove the fabric like material on my TRD sport to do my first oil change myself.

The TRD skid plate just goes back further and has 2 more bolts.

Decided to tackle the job and install the Katzkin covers. Not hard but time consuming and expect your hands to be sore! Shops were quoting me anywhere between $600 to 1k for the install. I can afford paying them but I've always wanted to try installing them. Bought it from a seller on eBay and he worked w/ me on selecting the right color and pattern. Here is the posting https://www.ebay.com/itm/185380018472

I believe the only thing that won't "work" is the camera mount. Brums and Roman mentioned that the OEM camera bracket for the TRD OR grille will be different from the TRD Pro. In that link, he is looking to 3D print a new mounting bracket to make it work since a new camera+bracket is about $1k.

As for me, I'm gonna attempt to cut the mount off with sweaty palms.

My truck is coming with these silly letters on the tailgate. Has anybody taken them off? Would a heat gun do it? I’m worried about damaging the paint.

heat gun and fishing line. You'll be left with some residual adhesive which an eraser wheel will take care of asap or you could use some goo gone/WD40 but itll take longer

To be honest the tailgate looks better with them than without them, imo.

I don't know about the chrome ones but I'll politely disagree on the black ones. They made my Tundra look 20x better.

I'll definitely wait and see how I like it in person. Mine are actually the black too. I asked the dealership not to put them on but I guess they get put on at the port. It's not that I think they look bad. Mines a 1794 and I thought the black with all that chrome might be too much. I've just always been a less is more kind of guy. I like the fact that they did a small 4x4 chrome piece and didn't do a decal on the side of the bed except for the TRD package. I'd probably prefer they take off the I-force max badge on the hood too.

It's the burden we bear for being part of the Double Cab Gang! We typically have to wait since a lot of aftermarket companies prioritize designs for the CM first.

If I recall the stats correctly over the life of the 2nd Gen, the CM outsells the Double Cab nearly 3:1. I imagine that gap will widen with the 3rd Gen since you can now get the standard bed length (6.5') on the CM.

Did you get any of the hats or “swag” in your package?

Just installed mine and I didn’t receive anything.

I’ve seen online they usually put hats/stickers/ etc in the boxes.

I can't quite tell by the photo but how much tire poke is there with your setup? I'm looking at combing the Method 316 with BFG KO2 (265/70 R18) but I might reconsider if there is too much poke.
