Coming from the automotive industry, they changed my outlook on filters and CAI. All modern vehicles have a mass air flow sensor (MAF), which controls the flow. No matter how much you add it’ll control it. Same for a CAI, you can add them all you want but without a tune or other components you never see the HP listed on the box. In order to see those gains you have to add other components. Black Bear, who tunes GM, did a test on several different CAI’s and the most HP they saw on dyno was 2hp. I’ll have to see if I can find that post for better accurate information.

I've never done a full blown (no pun intended) K&N intake system...just the filters. I might look at upgrading the intakes with this Tundra when they hit the market.

You have gotta admit though that it does look ‘cool’ when you pop the hood and see all that polished aluminum, colorful C clamps and mesh/fabric filters :D.

Too bad a lot of folks just also had them hanging around exposed under the hood sucking back in the hot air under there.

    CAI no more

Need to take my tailgate off and relocate the backup camera. Does anyone know if the 22 uses the same plug as the 21? Thinking about trying a kit for a 21 on it.

That’s the price you pay for quality. ICI, rough country, and everyone else ship shit PC’d bumpers that rust out fast. I had a c4 bumper on my last tundra and sold it looking brand new. My fab fours on my 16 tundra that was 2 years old looked like hell…. And cost $2600

Are there any good options for bed storage, like an over the wheel well bin that would bolt to the side? I'm putting in a bedslide and would like something that would make the space on the sides useful. I'm not crazy about the bedslide bins, as they don't have tops, so stuff will just blow out.

I just threw mine on yesterday. I would say I noticed it felt like it smoothed my throttle out a bit. And getting on it with the windows down you can definitely hear the turbos now.

Can't use that with a bedslide unfortunately...unless I just want to keep it fixed, which makes it a pricey plastic box!

Well crap. I'm not totally sure what options there are then. If you find something, let us know. Being able to have something to make that otherwise dead space useful would be great.

Added a black oem toyota emblem on the passenger dash board (kind of like what you see in the new trd pro dash) I know many here aren't fans on emblems / badges...I can always remove. Placement is over the tundra logo. Thoughts?

Not my cup of tea, but I have thought about doing the Tundra in vinyl to match what I did to my grille.

You might have convinced me. I’d just want to change the red TRD on the shifter to match as well

I also did the dash inlays with Red. I plan to do red/black katzkin covers so it will tie in nicely. Easy change to remove if you don't love it.

That pic didn't really turn out well due to lighting. The decals are a lot closer in color to the red on the cut-to-fit floor mats. Toyota needs to hurry up and release the all weather mats my dealership owes me.

That looks awesome but does the dark tint (ceramic or otherwise) reduce visibility, particularly when driving at night?

Nope, no reduction in vision, the 20% is very close to factory tint, and from the inside the 50% is barely noticeable, just knocks the sting off sun glare and the ceramic cuts the heat better than traditional tint. Coming from a Jeep Wrangler with jet black 5% limo tint the past 10 years, my old eyes would require that I roll windows down on dark streets at night to read street signs. I did not want that and stressed visibility to installation guy. Very happy with the outcome. I was very skeptical about the windshield but when inside the vehicle the difference between the 20% side windows (great visibility) and the 50% windshield very light, makes it look like nothing is on the windshield at all. But looks pretty badass from the outside.
